La jornada 24 de la Premier League terminó hoy con un Derby de Londres en Stamford Bridge, entre Chelsea y West Ham con realidades muy diferentes. Los blues quieren volver a meterse en la zona de Champions League, y los hammers quieren huir de la zona de descenso. Acompáñame a analizar éste importante partido, por favor.
EL PREÁMBULO
CHELSEA es el equipo que más goles ha anotado de tiro libre, con dos goles. Sin embargo, la defensa es algo que siguen tratando de dar atención, puesto que son el equipo que más penales ha concedido, al igual que el Wolverhampton y Brighton. Además, las desatenciones le han costado muchísimo. Y en cuanto a eso, vemos precisamente que el portero Robert Sánchez es reemplazado por Jörgensen, el segundo arquero. A mi gusto, Madueke no debería ser titular, me gusta más el estilo y las decisiones de Pedro Neto.
WEST HAM UNITED está buscando recuperarse en vista de los últimos resultados que ha conseguido. Es el quinto equipo que menos ha disparado al arco rival. Es el quinto equipo que más goles ha recibido. Su mala racha y también estilo de juego ha hecho de que sea el equipo que menos goles ha anotado de contraataque, igualado con Aston Villa y Newcastle. Su alineación llama mucho la atención, en vista que avisa que tendrá un par de carrileros (Emerson y Wan-Bissaka) que buscarán exprimirse al máximo para darle largura al equipo. Y una buena noticia: vuelve Bowen a ser titular.
JUEGO ESPERADO
Era de esperar que el Chelsea dominara más la posesión del balón y tratando de proponer su juego. Por algo son los que están más arriba en la tabla de posiciones. El West Ham estuvo más a la defensiva, esperando su oportunidad.
Chelsea usó un recurso que ya hemos visto en Arsenal y Manchester City: hacer que su lateral izquierdo se una al medio para manejar el balón o sencillamente promover el mayor volúmen de jugadores en la ofensiva. Esto es lo que hizo Cucurella, empujando al lado derecho a Enzo Fernandez. En cuanto al West Ham, cuando no tenían en balón, formaban un 5-4-1, buscando cuidar la defensa de forma sobresaliente, cerrando bien el pasillo con la raya de cal. Bowen era el único que permanecía como primera línea e incluso se vio en ocasiones aglutinado con los cuatro del medio.
En el minuto 42 llegó el gol luego de un error garrafal en el retroceso de Colwill, dejando servido el balón para un Bowen que no perdonó de frente al arco. El primer tiempo terminó con un Chelsea tímido en el ataque.
LA REMONTADA
Los dueños de casa empezaron la segunda mitad con una actitud más ofensiva. Pero al encontrarse con un West Ham compacto, ordenado, con todos sus jugadores de campo metidos en menos de 15 metros, Maresca empezó a hacer los cambios, refrescando primeramente el ataque. Sustituyó a un Jackson sentido muscularmente por una acción del primer tiempo y un Sancho que no fué servidos por sus compañeros por el sector izquierdo, que para mí fue desperdiciado en todo el primer tiempo. Posteriormente, se dio ingreso a Malo Gusto y Nkunku, refrescando la zona que más trabajo en el primer tramo. Lo que más me gustó de estos cambios fueron el momento en que se hicieron, puesto que no se esperó más de lo necesario.
Llega entonces el primer gol del Chelsea, con un Pedro Neto metido en el sector derecho y luego de una jugada que se ensució y quedó la pelota sin dueño en el área grande, Pedro disparó fuerte y abajo. Subió el empate al marcador luego de la revisión del VAR. Posteriormente, Pedro Neto volvió a lanzar un centro que desde el sector izquierdo Palmer materializó gracias a un desafortunado desvío de Wan-Bissaka que resultó en gol en propia puerta.
En éste tramo West Ham hizo cuatro cambios, tratando de juntar jóvenes que corrieran el campo junto a experimentados como Ings que pudieran darle la inteligencia que necesitaban en éste territorio hostil. Sin embargo, el marcador no se movió más.
EL MOMENTO
Sin duda, fueron los últimos 15 minutos de juego, incluyendo los del complemento, puesto que el Chelsea fue muy impreciso en sus pases, y parecía nervioso, como si no supieran lo que pasaría al final, si lo terminarían empatando. El último cambio de jugador del Chelsea mostró precisamente ésto, al cambiar a un volante ofensivo por un defensa central. ¡Maresca quería que ésto acabara ya! El West Ham olió sangre e intentó crear algunos acercamientos peligros, incluso uno que terminó bloqueado por Tosin dentro del área grande. Fue un momento electrizante puesto que nos recordaba lo impredecible que puede ser los partidos de ésta liga en los últimos tramos.
El resultado terminó 2-1 a favor de los dueños de casa. Sin duda, fue un partido difícil, donde se vio muy bien la planificación hecha por Graham Potter, pero al final prevaleció la calidad individual en el campo y un poco de carambola.

Elegir un solo jugador es muy difícil. Así que prefiero elegir un top 3.
MOISES CAICEDO (Chelsea). Mantuvo el equilibrio en el mediocampo. Ganó balones divididos. Logró salidas limpias del equipo incluso de un solo toque. Fue intenso en los tramos en los que lo necesitó el equipo.
JARROD BOWEN (West Ham). A pesar de ser el único en la ofensiva, hizo su papel como primer defensor. Fue y vino de la delantera, retrocediendo oportunamente para manejar el balón. Fue certero en la única oportunidad que tuvo de frente al arco. Digno capitán.
PEDRO NETO (Chelsea). Entró al campo concentrado. Influyó en los dos goles de su equipo. Tomó buenas decisiones incluso cuando encabezaba jugadas rápidas. No esperó más tiempo desde que entró para generar peligro en el arco rival.
Chelsea ganó y se ubica como único cuarto lugar en la tabla de posiciones. El West Ham permanece en el decimo quinto lugar, a diez puntos de los puestos de descenso. Un margen que quizás parezca seguro pero no hay que confiarse. La Premier se detendrá hasta el 12 de febrero con el Derby de Merseyside. ¡Disfrutemos el fútbol!

THE REMOUNTING
The home side started the second half with a more attacking attitude. But when they found West Ham compact, tidy, with all their outfield players inside 15 metres, Maresca started to make changes, refreshing the attack first of all. He substituted a muscular Jackson, who had been feeling the effects of a first half action, and a Sancho who was not being served by his team-mates on the left, who for me was wasted in the whole first half. Subsequently, Malo Gusto and Nkunku were brought on, refreshing the area that was the hardest worked in the first half. What I liked most about these changes was the timing of the changes, as we didn't wait any longer than necessary.
Then came Chelsea's first goal, with Pedro Neto getting in on the right and after a play that got messy and the ball was left without an owner in the big box, Pedro shot hard and low. It was the equaliser after a VAR review. Later, Pedro Neto again put in a cross from the left which Palmer put in after an unfortunate deflection by Wan-Bissaka resulted in an own goal.
West Ham made four changes at this stage, trying to bring on youngsters to run the field alongside experienced players like Ings who could give them the intelligence they needed in this hostile territory. However, the scoreboard did not move any further.
THE MOMENT
It was certainly the last 15 minutes of the game, including the second half, as Chelsea were very inaccurate in their passing, and looked nervous, as if they didn't know what would happen in the end, if they would end up equalising. Chelsea's last player change showed just this, switching an attacking midfielder for a central defender - Maresca wanted it to end now! West Ham smelt blood and tried to create some dangerous approaches, including one that was blocked by Tosin inside the six-yard box. It was an electric moment as it was a reminder of how unpredictable league games can be in the closing stages.
The result ended 2-1 in favour of the home side. It was undoubtedly a tough game, where Graham Potter's planning was well thought out, but in the end it was individual quality on the pitch and a bit of carom that prevailed.

MOISES CAICEDO (Chelsea). Maintained balance in midfield. He won split balls. He got the team off to a clean start, even with one touch. Was intense at times when the team needed him.
