Se decidieron ya dos de los tres cupos que otorga UEFA para el mundial de Qatar 2022 vía repechajes. A falta de disputarse los partidos de semifinal y final en la llave A, que se jugarán en junio producto al aplazamiento del duelo entre Ucrania y Escocia, en la llave B se clasificó Polonia, y por la C logró su boleto mundialista, Portugal. Estos equipos estarán involucrados en el sorteo que se realizará el 1ro de abril próximo, así como el ganador de la llave A, aunque no esté definido.

Polonia clasificó por segunda vez consecutiva al mundial, gracias a una victoria sobre Suecia, con marcador final de dos goles a cero. Encuadrados en la llave B pasaron directamente a la final ya que su rival en semifinales fue Rusia, equipo que se encuentra sancionado por la FIFA. Qatar será otra oportunidad para el ganador del The Best el pasado año y máximo goleador en las últimas Bundesliga con el Bayern de Múnich, Robert Lewandowski, quien no ha tenido buenos torneos con su selección, y en el anterior mundial no pudieron tan siquiera pasar de fase de grupos. Los polacos se encuentran en el bombo 3 para el próximo sorteo mundialista, por lo que seguramente les tocará un grupo complicado donde tendrán que demostrar todo su potencial.

Si bien Macedonia sorprendió al mundo del fútbol al vencer por la mínima en su anterior compromiso a Italia (a quien la mayoría de los expertos daban como finalista de esta llave ante Portugal), no pudo con una selección portuguesa que se mostró sólida en defensa y contundente en ataque. El primer gol llegó luego de un error en la entrega de la defensa macedonia, que aprovechó Cristiano Ronaldo para robar el balón y dejar solo ante el guardameta a su compañero Bruno Fernandes, luego de una bonita asistencia. El segundo del jugador del Manchester United llegó luego de un fenomenal pase desde la banda izquierda de Diogo Jota, que el mediocampista definió al primer toque. Con este resultado Portugal clasifica a su sexto mundial de manera consecutiva y Cristiano Ronaldo se une, si no sucede nada raro, al selecto club de los jugadores que han disputado 5 mundiales. Portugal se encuentra en el bombo 1 por lo que existe la posibilidad de que se enfrente con Polonia en fase de grupos.

The Manchester United player's second came after a phenomenal pass from the left flank by Diogo Jota, which the midfielder finished with his first touch. With this result, Portugal qualifies for its sixth consecutive World Cup and Cristiano Ronaldo joins, if nothing unusual happens, the select club of players who have played in 5 World Cups. Portugal is in group 1, so there is a possibility that they will face Poland in the group stage.

¿Qué tal Ariel? En la llave de Portugal, se impuso la logica ante una sorpresiva Macedonia que hace unos días sacudió al mundo del futbol al eliminar de forma sumamente fortuita a la selección italiana. Grandísimo partido de Bruno Fernandez por los lusos.
En cuanto a la llave de Polonia vs Suecia, era un duelo mucho más parejo en el que casi todos veían a Suecia un escalón por encima del cuadro polaco y mira... al final "Lewi" y compañía han dado la campanada al hacerse con el boleto de esa llave.
