Por aquí de nuevo con dos historias diferentes pero con un mismo destino: "Cerro platillon", decidí escribirlo de esta manera para que se pudiera apreciar las características de esta ruta que se ha vuelto emblemática porque cada año, ciclistas de todas partes del pais vienen a participar en la competencia "Reto a platillon" la cual se realizó el 30/04. Previo a esta competencia hubo entrenamientos los fines de semana, aunque no íbamos a competir, el domingo anterior participamos en este recorrido de 40,9 kilómetros (ida y vuelta).
Here again with two different stories but with the same destination: "Cerro Platillon ", I decided to write it this way so you could appreciate the characteristics of this route that has become emblematic because every year, cyclists from all over the country come to participate in the competition "Reto a Platillon " which was held on 30/04. Before this competition there was training on weekends, although we were not going to compete, the previous Sunday we participated in this route of 40.9 kilometers (round trip).
Este destino hermoso se encuentra ubicado en San Juan de los Morros, estado Guarico, Venezuela. Para llegar al plan de las vacas recorrimos 21 kilómetros desde el complejo deportivo, allí dejamos los vehículos. Ya habíamos hecho esta ruta pero, no recordaba lo exigente de la carretera, ya podrán apreciar en las fotos el panorama. Los primeros km son en carretera de asfalto con subidas y bajadas interminables y luego comienza la de tierra con similares características.
This beautiful destination is located in San Juan de los Morros, Guarico state, Venezuela. To get to the plan of the cows we drove 21 kilometers from the sports complex, where we left the vehicles. We had already done this route but I did not remember how demanding the road was, you can see the panorama in the photos. The first kilometers are on asphalt road with endless ups and downs and then begins the dirt road with similar characteristics.
El clima estuvo a nuestro favor (nublado), es un deleite rodar en la montaña con brisa fresca. Llegamos a un sitio que venden comida, refrescos y otras artículos, allí se encontraba el gobernador del estado Guarico, como nos gusta la farándula aprovechamos unas fotos con él, es una persona muy amable. Lo que mas me gustó en este punto, fué un cerdito bebe compartiendo comida con las gallinas, luego de hidratarnos, continuamos nuestro camino, la naturaleza aún nos aguardaba otro regalo.
The weather was in our favor (cloudy), it is a delight to ride in the mountains with a cool breeze. We arrived at a place that sells food, soft drinks, and other items, there was the governor of the state of Guarico, as we like to show business we took some pictures with him, he is a very nice person. What I liked the most at this point, was a baby pig sharing food with the chickens, after hydrating ourselves, we continued on our way, nature still awaited us another gift.
Como podrán observar, es bastante exigente la carretera pero con concentración se supera, ya faltando como un kilómetro para llegar a nuestro destino, comenzó a llover muy fuerte...en lo particular, me fascina mojarme con la lluvia, en esta oportunidad la alegría me desbordaba mientras seguía subiendo. Al rato de haber llegado, confieso que me preocupaba el regreso por las bajadas con pantano y el peligro de resbalar, pero lo hicimos sin contratiempos, descendimos hasta llegar a "El Castrero" y de allí al complejo deportivo donde se encontraban los vehículos.
As you can see, the road is quite demanding but with concentration, it is overcome, and missing about a kilometer to reach our destination, it began to rain very hard ... in particular, I love to get wet in the rain, this time the joy overflowed me as I continued climbing. After arriving, I confess that I was worried about the return trip because of the swampy slopes and the danger of slipping, but we made it without mishap, we descended until we reached "El Castrero" and from there to the sports complex where the vehicles were located.
Como comenté al principio, este recorrido muestra en parte lo que tuvieron que pedalear los participantes en el reto "Platillón 2023", de nuestro grupo se inscribieron: Andreina, Gabymar, Gin, Maye, Cesar y Juan Carlos; otros compañeros decidimos ir de apoyo; Por esto, acordamos salir de nuestra ciudad (Maracay-Venezuela) a las 6 y 30 a.m, recorrimos 46,37 kilómetros en vehículo para llegar al complejo deportivo, luego continuar por la carretera para subir al cerro antes de que empezara esta competencia de 21 kilómetros.
As I mentioned at the beginning, this route shows in part what the participants had to pedal in the challenge "Platillón 2023", our group was enrolled: Andreina, Gabymar, Gin, Maye, Cesar, and Juan Carlos; other colleagues decided to go in support; For this, we agreed to leave our city (Maracay-Venezuela) at 6:30 am, we traveled 46.37 kilometers by vehicle to reach the sports complex, then continue along the road to climb the hill before the start of this competition of 21 kilometers.
Mientras llegaban los ciclistas, aproveché de pasear por este hermoso lugar, me acerqué a los fogones de leña donde se cocinaba sopa para 1.200 personas, había una gran cantidad de verduras y ollas al fuego. Pasadas 2 horas aproximadamente anunciaron la llegada de los primeros participantes, nos acercamos a la zona de recibimiento para celebrar a los que iban llegando, nuestra compañera Gaby obtuvo el 4to. lugar en su categoría.
While the cyclists were arriving, I took the opportunity to walk around this beautiful place, I approached the wood stoves where they were cooking soup for 1,200 people, there were a lot of vegetables and pots on the fire. After about 2 hours they announced the arrival of the first participants, we approached the reception area to celebrate those who were arriving, and our colleague Gaby won 4th place in its category.
En esta oportunidad felicitamos a Efren Diaz y su equipo quienes fueron los organizadores de este evento de altura y calidad, el poder de convocatoria y organización fué impresionante. Una vez mas confirmo un dicho que reza: "Quien anda solo llega rápido, pero quien anda acompañado llega lejos"...en el ciclismo, a veces somos protagonistas, a veces espectadores, en ambos casos disfrutamos de grata compañía.
In this opportunity we congratulate Efren Diaz and his team who were the organizers of this event of height and quality, the power of convocation and organization was impressive. Once again I confirm a saying that goes: "Who rides alone goes fast, but who rides together goes far"... in cycling, sometimes we are protagonists, sometimes spectators, and in both cases, we enjoy the pleasant company.
Se había planificado llevar y asar pinchos, además de apoyar a nuestros compañeros con la hidratacion y la comida celebramos su llegada, fué emocionante verlos atravesar la meta, ellos nos comentaron que lo mas emotivo fué el recibimiento; la sonrisa, el abrazo, la alegría, la euforia, el reconocimiento por haber asumido el reto y haberlo logrado.
We had planned to carry and grill skewers, in addition to supporting our colleagues with hydration and food we celebrated their arrival, it was exciting to see them cross the finish line, they told us that the most emotional was the reception; the smile, the hug, the joy, the euphoria, the recognition for having taken on the challenge and having achieved it.
Me gusta terminar las aventuras con un mensaje, en esta oportunidad conseguí uno que me encanto de Amy Poehler: "Encuentra un grupo de personas que te desafíen y te inspiren, pasa mucho tiempo con ellas y te cambiará la vida"...De esto, no tengo dudas.

Un post SUPERLATIVO. Para los amantes del ciclismo y el deporte en general, sentimos en cada palabra y en cada imagen, el metamensaje de lo acontecido.
Por donde mires, hay bellezas: Naturaleza desmedida, organización, comidas típicas y MOMENTOS ÚNICOS, que no se repiten. Y creemos, lo más importante, como decía la frase final. "Hacerlo en equipo y con amigos", el disfrute es superior.

Gracias por comentar, así es...la técnica que aplico ante rutas como esta es que la miro una vez y me concentro en el caucho de adelante, así engaño mi mente, me concentro y para adelante...en esta ruta hay muchos animalitos y bellos paisajes como muestran las fotos, un abrazo!
