El partido sobre el cual estaban puestos los reflectores el día de ayer en Champions fue el de Atalanta contra el Real Madrid. Un encuentro muy importante para ambos clubes, donde necesitaban ganar para mantener sus aspiraciones de entrar a la siguiente fase entre los mejores 8 equipos.
La victoria se fue para el lado merengue con un marcador de 3-2. Los de Ancelotti aprovecharon los errores defensivos y de concepto que cometieron los de Bérgamo, y capitalizaron en 3 oportunidades, las suficientes para llevarse los 3 puntos y mantenerse en la pelea.
Una de las cosas que no logró entender en Gasperini, es como ha sentado últimamente a Retegui. El italo-argentino es el goleador de la Serie A, y además de eso está pasando por un gran momento ofensivo. Su sola presencia en la cancha influye en el comportamiento defensivo del rival, sin embargo, Gasperini no aprovechó esto, por lo menos no desde el principio.
Últimamente Retegui ha entrado de suplente, sucedió ante el Milan el fin de semana pasado y también contra el Madrid. Si bien De Ketelaere la está rompiendo, el referente del área es Retegui. El segundo, un error gravísimo, y acá la fortuna del campeón, a quien le quedó un balón solo en el área para anotar fácilmente.
El tercer gol del Madrid fue otra novatada defensiva, nada que ver cómo se defiende en Italia, y eso me extraño demasiado al ver a Bellingham solo en el área con espacio para moverse y maniobrar. Cuando sabemos que en el área no se deben dar espacios, esto le costo al Atalanta quien lo pagó bastante caro.
En líneas generales, fue un buen encuentro. El Madrid jugó bien y aprovechó los errores de su rival, fue eficaz, algo que es una de sus mayores virtudes. El Atalanta hizo lo que pudo, y ahora, con esta derrota y a falta de dos encuentros, se ocupa en la 9.ª posición a la espera de no bajar mucho con los resultados de otros equipos el día de hoy.
Al equipo de Gasperini le quedan dos partidos, uno entre comillas fácil y el último sumamente complicado ante el Barcelona en España. Clasificará entre los mejores 8 equipos? El panorama no es fácil, pero aún hay posibilidades de lograrlo. Si lo hace será muy bueno para ellos, de lo contrario les tocará jugar una eliminatoria ida y vuelta al más puro estilo de la antigua Uefa Champions League.
