The Italian national soccer team faced today the Austrian national team, for what would be the Round of 16 of the Euro 2020. The score would be 2-1 in favor of the Italian national team.
The iconic Wembley Stadium in London, which will host the final of this competition, "the home of soccer" witnessed what was a beautiful, but hard-fought match between Roberto Mancini's "Azzurri" and Austria led by former German footballer Franco Foda.

Match summary
Today the Austrian team stood up to the Italian national team. A match that from the beginning we saw an Italy that felt uncomfortable, could not have the control, nor the dominance of the ball, as in the first games. Both teams tried throughout the match, the "Azzurri" tried a lot on the left flank, with Spinazzola who had several chances, but without dangerous situations. The Austrian team closed very well and their defensive line was impenetrable. On several occasions, we saw how they managed to come out from below and open up play for Alaba, who made his characteristic runs, but none of them did any harm. The clearest chance for Mancini's team came in the 32nd minute when a shot from half distance ended up crashing into the goal guarded by goalkeeper Bachmann. In the second half we saw a more rebellious Austria, more determined, and in several stretches of the match they managed to take control of the ball. In the 64th minute, Austria scored a goal, Arnautovic scored with a header after a cross, but after reviewing the "Var" it was determined that it was in an advanced position. Italy kept trying, but could not get a clear play. And so it would go to extra time. At the 95th minute, the goal of the match came at the feet of Juventus player Chiesa, Italy's goal. Belotti put a pass as if with his hand to Chiesa, who controlled the ball with his head, cut back and hit it. The second of the "azzurri" would come at minute 105'. Insigne receives a change of tack, sends it into the box and after a tangle Pessina takes the rebound and defines very well. The match was already going uphill for the Austrians, but they didn't stop fighting. At the 105th minute Donnarumma saves the discount. A Schop's shot and the Italian goalkeeper is forced to avoid the fall of his goal. At minute 114 the Austrian goal was saved. A corner kick to the near post and Kalajdcil rushes to get his head on it and put it in the only space Italy gave him. The match would have a very intense last few minutes, but it would not be enough to force penalties, and so the end of commitment would be whistled and thus Italy celebrated its pass to the quarterfinals of this Euro 2020.

Analysis: In my opinion, Italy is still one of the favorite teams to win this tournament. It is one of the teams currently playing the best soccer. It is worth noting that with today's victory they have "31" matches without losing, they are undefeated. With today's victory, it achieved its "11" victory in a row. If there is anything else to add is that this team is plausible, they play well. A balanced soccer in both aspects, defensive and offensive, very solid in all its lines. They exert a lot of pressure in every field. There is a lot of relief, and collective play. Today they faced an Austrian team that played well, who were very complicated in their defensive lines. Mancini's team is such an offensive team that they could only penetrate them in extra time. Italy suffered, but after a few changes, they managed to win. The four-time world champions will now wait to see which team they will face in the quarterfinals. It will be a very difficult match, because it will be against one of the two teams that will play against Portugal vs. Belgium tomorrow. The current champion of the tournament, with the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo as a figure and the Belgian national team, who have an incredible team, and that for many are big favorites.
