La Eurocopa 2020 no ha decepcionado y desde el comienzo en las primeras fases pudimos observar un alto nivel, partidos de alto rendimiento, mucho fútbol, y varios goles. Para los amantes del fútbol fue simplemente un deleite; y quedó demostrado que no hay equipo fácil, y también que actualmente el fútbol de selecciones en Europa es el mejor y más competitivo del mundo.

Tras la clasificación de los equipos a la estancia de octavos de final, había mucha emoción ya que tendríamos muy buenos partidos. Recordemos cuales fueron los enfrentamientos que se dieron en octavos, con sus respectivos resultados.

GALES vs DINAMARCA
El 26 de junio del presente año se jugaría el primer compromiso de los octavos de final de la Euro 2020. En el estadio Amsterdam Arena en los Países Bajos, estadio del equipo del Ajax de Holanda. Partido donde la selección de Dinamarca, (y que hay que ponerle el ojo ha esta selección), logró vencer a los gales de Gareth Bale (0-4). El primer gol vendría en los pies de juvenil de 23 años Kasper Dolberg que debutaba, y de que manera lo hizo. Con dos tantos al minuto 27´ y 48´. El tercer tanto vendría a través de Joakim Mæhle el jugador del Atalanta de Italia al minuto 88´ y cerraría este poker Martin Braithwaite en el agregado al 90+4´. De esta forma el equipo danés venció y avanzó a los cuartos de final.

Los goles vendrían al minuto 95´ a través del jugador de la Juventus FC de Italia. 10 minutos después al 105´ vendría el segundo tanto para los italianos, en esta ocasión sería Matteo Pessina. Al minuto 114´ vendría el descuento de Austria, Saša Kalajdžić marcó, pero no le alcanzó a los austriacos para forjar la tanda de penales, y así la selección Italiana ganaba y avanzaba a los cuartos de final.

Pero los checos sorprendieron y dejaron sin ideas al equipo holandés, que no se haya y cayeron derrotados (0-2). Los goles vendrían al minuto 68´ y 80. Tomáš Holeš y Patrik Schick serían los encargados en convertir los dos tantos. Tras esta sorpresiva sorpresa la República Checa avanzó a cuartos de final.

La Portugal de Cristiano Ronaldo y la actual campeona del certamen, intento, pero no pudo y termino cayendo derrotada (1-0). En este compromiso vimos una selección belga que no género, ni ocasionó muchas oportunidades de gol, y con pocos disparos al arco, en uno de ellos vendría la primera anotación en los pies de Thorgan Hazard al minuto. Lo portugués se despidieron del certamen y el equipo de Bélgica avanzó a la siguiente estancia.

La subcampeona del mundo, y la España de Luis Enrique protagonizaron un partido de muchas vibras, emociones y muchos goles. (3-5). Al minuto 20´ tras un autogol de Pedri el jugador del Barcelona. El empate para los españoles vendría al minuto 38´ a través de Pablo Sarabia. El segundo y tercer tanto de España vendría al minuto 57´ y 77´ en los pies de César Azpilicueta y Ferran Torres. Con ese resultado los españoles se sentían cómodos, pero Croacia no se rindió y descontarían al minuto 85´ Mislav Oršić convertiría. Faltando 5 minutos, los croatas estaban motivados y sorpresivamente al minuto 90+2´del agregado vendría el empate de Croacia a través del jugador del Atalanta Mario Pašalić. De esta forma se irían al tiempo extra. Donde los de Luis Enrique salieron con todo, y si bien los croatos tuvieron una muy cerca, que paso cerca del palo de Unai, al minuto 100´ (Álvaro Morata) y 103´ (Mikel Oyarzabal) minutos España cerraría la eliminatoria con el cuarto y quinto gol. Y así España celebraba su pasé a cuartos de final.

Tras 90 minutos el marcador quedaría (3-3) Suiza sorpresivamente se iría arriba en el marcador en el minuto 15´a través de delantero Haris Seferović. El descuento de Francia y ventaja vendrían a los minutos 57´ y 59´ en los pies de Karim Benzema. Los franceses habían despertado, y estaban siendo superiores. Al minuto 75´vendría el tercer tanto en los pies de Paul Pogba que con mucha clase hizo uno de los mejores goles de esta estancia y del torneo. Para muchos ya todo estaba dado, Francia como favorito estaba ganando (3-1), pero las sorpresas en esta Euro seguirían y al minuto 81´vendría el descuento de parte de los suizos. Nuevamente Haris Seferović. Y al minuto 90´ todos quedaríamos anonadados, cuando Suiza empató a través de Mario Gavranović y así forzar el tiempo extra. Nadie lo podía creer, en el tiempo extra Francia lo intento, y Suiza jugando muy bien, lograron llevar este compromiso a la primera estancia de penales del certamen, donde los suizos avanzarían con un marcador (4-5) y así el campeón del mundo, y gran favorito del torneo quedarían eliminados. Y Suiza con mucha alegría celebraban su pase a cuartos de final.

El día de ayer se enfrentaron una de las grandes potencias del fútbol mundial, ingleses y alemanes protagonizaron este compromiso, un partido de dos selecciones con mucha historia. En el estadio de Wembley en Londres, estadio donde se disputará la final. En grandes torneos (Euro/Mundial), se habían enfrentado en 7 ocasiones. Ambos han ganados 2 y empataron los tres restantes. Aunque los alemanes se clasificaron por penaltis en dos de esos tres empates. Gareth Southgate seleccionador de Inglaterra, protagonizó una de esas tandas de penales en el 1996, en el que Gareth fue el verdugo para su selección fallando un penal. 25 años después de Southgate logra clasificar a Inglaterra a cuartos de final del certamen y así tomar revancha ante su bestia negra Alemania. (2-0) 75´ (Raheem Sterling) 86´ (Harry Kane) sería el marcador que le daría el triunfo a los ingleses.

Con el empate uno a uno, se irían a tiempo extra, y ya cuando el principal iba a pitar para irse a los paneles, vendría el gol de Ucrania, de mucha emoción, tras un centro al área aperecería Artem Dovbyk que de cabeza anotaría. Y de esta forma Ucrania pasó a los cuartos de final.

La España de Luis Enrique estaba dejando mucho de que hablar, pero con un buen partido ante Croacia, y con un gran juego colectivo lograron avanzar. Contra Suiza no de deben confiar, y deben mantener un orden en todas sus lineas. En el Bélgica vs Italia, bastante parejo. Dos candidatas, en este compromiso inclinaré mi opinión de que si Italia sale con ese juego característicos, presión den todas las partes del juego, juego colectivo, con una gran y defensa y ofensiva. Podría lograr avanzar a la siguiente ronda. República Checa vs Dinamarca. Un compromiso que serán seguramente de un juego de mucha ida y vuelta, al estilo de los partidos de la premier league. Dinamarca ha causado una gran impresión, y los checos vienen con todas las ganas después que en su partido de octavos eliminar a otra de las candidatas que se fueron, como los Países Bajos. Inglaterra vs Ucrania. Inglaterra con una de las mejores defensivas de este torneo, y que dejaron atrás otra favorita (Alemania) y que sueñan con llegar a esa gran final en Wembley. Los dirigidos por Shevchenko juegan bien, y seguramente van a complicar mucho al conjunto inglés, y que será un partido de bastante roce.
