En grandes titulares de prensa podemos ver como algunos periodistas arman sus propias alineaciones sin tomar en cuenta que aun no hay un timonel en el banquillo, y lo mas preocupante es que mencionan a jugadores que en la actualidad están teniendo buenos números, sin tomar en cuenta que la temporada aun no cumple ni su primer mes, a esto hay que sumarle que son 162 encuentros a disputar en MLB y en la actualidad un jugador puede tener muy buenos números pero siempre he dicho que lo mas importante no es como se empieza sino como se termina; a mi criterio creo que debe ser en enero del 2023 cuando en definitiva se empiecen a mencionar nombres, aunque ya los entes encargados de nombrar a quien va a dirigir, deben hacerlo de una vez para ir adelantando.
Algunos peloteros han expresado su deseo de jugar en la Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional; por lo menos en el mes de diciembre para llegar a tono al clásico que será entre febrero y marzo, pero una cosa es ponerse a tono y la otra es ganarse el puesto, yo soy de los que piensa que a los jugadores se les debe aprovechar cuando están en su gran momento; y no dejarse llevar por números y récords del pasado, en la actualidad veo la promoción que hacen muchos a quien pudiera ser el primera base de este equipo; Jesus Aguilar y no les quito su afán, pues pareciera ser la primera opción a simple vista por estar en plan estelar con los Marlins de Miami, sumado a una buena temporada en promedio al bate, de no ser así en el primer cojín pudiéramos tener a Salvador Pérez o Eugenio Suarez de acuerdo a como estos terminen la temporada.
El puesto de camarero de acuerdo algunas exageraciones y rumores es para Jose Altuve y creo que aciertan, pero que pasa si se lesiona y no esta para el evento, bastaría con girar la mirada en la actualidad a los números que esta poniendo Luis Arraez, segunda base de los Mellizos de Minnesota y aquí cobra fuerza mi opinión en el párrafo anterior donde digo: "Que a los jugadores se les debe aprovechar cuando están en su gran momento". Importante esperar a ver como le va en la temporada a Cesar Hernández con los Nacionales de Washington y a Wilmer Flores con San Francisco, y en este caso estoy citando a segundas bases naturales que pudieran tomar el lugar de Altuve en caso que este no pueda estar. Y vuelvo al tema del manager porque el elegido para el cargo no debería estar improvisando, por ejemplo; colocando a un receptor de buena defensa y buen manejo de los lanzadores a cubrir otra posición. Si revisamos posición por posición según los rumores actuales aparecen nombres como los de Jesus Aguilar en la inicial, Jose Atuve en segunda, y Eduardo Escobar en la tercera por lo menos hasta alli, a simple vista hay una gran ofensiva de acuerdo a los números ya establecidos, y si a esto le sumamos que Salvador Pérez fuese el cácher tendríamos una combinación de bateo y defensiva. Mi pregunta es: ¿Y si estas torres se nos caen a mitad de temporada y no despiertan? La otra interrogante es ¿Quién va al campo corto? Mi respuesta es que dentro de esta escogencia mas allá de los nombres, se debe ser exhaustivo a la hora de elegir al pelotero y es una decisión dura para quien asuma las riendas, por ejemplo: decidir entre Salvador Pérez o Willson Contreras en la receptoría, teniendo a Jesus Aguilar en Primera, y Miguel Cabrera como designado, de verdad que no quiero estar en los zapatos del manager, aun toca elegir quien pudiera ser el campo corto y los rumores dicen que Miguel Rojas es el indicado, pero si el clásico fuese hoy de seguro que Gleyber Torres habría que tomarlo en cuenta, Thairo Estrada, Elvis Andrus y Alcides Escobar no la tendrán fácil, pero si están en su momento debería uno de ellos estar dentro del equipo.

Mas allá de los rumores de prensa y redes sociales el manager elegido, debe pensar con cabeza fría, solamente en el cuadro tiene una gran cantidad de nombres que si el clásico fuese hoy tendría que tomarlos en cuenta, pero no todos pueden estar, yo en lo particular agregaría un utilitis y alli tendría que tomar la decisión, entre Freddy Galvis o Marwin González quienes hasta ahora tienen los números, en cuanto a los lanzadores muchos asoman a Eduardo Rodríguez como el numero uno en la rotación, pero en la actualidad quien tiene mejor registro de efectividad es Pablo López, Germán Márquez, Carlos Carrasco y Luis García son los mas nombrados para integrar la rotación, y en la actualidad hay profundidad en cuanto a los abridores, ver los números de Martin Pérez con Texas en apenas el inicio de campaña, la actuación de Antonio Senzatela con Colorado y Elieser Hernández con Miami merecen de una evaluación a final de temporada.
Reitero que estos jugadores, mas allá de opiniones exageradas, los debe escoger el manager electo en el mes de enero o febrero, y no dejarse llevar por la presión de la prensa ni el amiguísimo; mas que nombres se debe llevar estadísticas y aprovechar el buen momento que pueda tener un pelotero, en cuanto a los jardines podemos mencionar a muchos, aunque tener a Ronald Acuña alli saludable es una opción pero hay mucha profundidad y opciones a evaluar. En cuanto al manager y cuerpo técnico, si voy a emitir mi opinión personal respetando a todos, porque se manejan varios candidatos pero yo pusiera a Alfredo Pedrique de 61 años que se ha ganado el respeto de varias generaciones en este deporte, conoce bien a cada jugador, juega pelota caribe y además sabe gerenciar, su asistente Carlos García o Miguel Cairo, en la tercera Omar López, y por primera a Carlos Mendoza.
