Cuando falta menos de un año para la realización del VI Clásico Mundial de béisbol (5 al 17 de marzo del 2026), Cuba continúa trazando sus acciones estratégicas en aras de llevar el equipo más competitivo posible y, los peloteros que juegan en el país están luchando muchos de esos puestos, a partir de las restricciones que tienen los peloteros cubanos que juegan en las Grandes Ligas.
A partir de lo anterior, este torneo se incluye entre estas acciones, con el objetivo de desarrollar las habilidades de los jugadores e intentar que los más nuevos, con perspectivas de integrar la selección nacional, tengan la posibilidad de llegar de la mejor manera posible.
Pero, ¿lo que hemos visto hasta el momento ha cumplido con las exigencias que requiere el objetivo esencial de los jugadores?
¿Ha demostrado el campeonato que nuestros peloteros están en condiciones de enfrentar un clásico mundial?

Luces de la Liga Élite
· Hay una gran cantidad de jugadores jóvenes con talento deportivo que pueden aprovechar esta oportunidad para desarrollar sus habilidades.
· Rivalidad manifiesta entre los distintos equipos del torneo.
· Asistencia aceptable a los estadios para apoyar a los diferentes equipos.
· Se aprecia una mejoría considerable en cada una de las áreas de juego (pitcheo, bateo, defensa)
Sombras de la Liga Élite
· Serios problemas con los cuerpos de lanzadores que se evidencian en el número de bases por bolas, la manera tan cómoda en que los bateadores les conectan y la poca velocidad que tiene la mayoría de ellos.
· Problemas con el pensamiento técnico-táctico de algunos equipos, lo que ha traído como consecuencias resultados negativos y, por ende, están ubicados en la parte baja de la tabla de posiciones.
· Se está jugando a las 2 pm. Es cierto que hay problemas económicos, con el combustible, pero, en ese horario, se produce un desgaste de los peloteros que después se refleja en su rendimiento. · La salida de un grupo de peloteros hacia otras ligas en medio de la competencia, lo que debilita nuestra competición. Aclaro que no estoy en contra, pero debe ser para ligas superiores a la nuestra y evitar que esto suceda en medio del torneo.
Un comentario final.
La III Liga Élite es joven todavía y nos depara muchas sorpresas por delante, pero, desde ya, los diferentes cuerpos técnicos deben prestar especial atención a los aspectos que están empañando el buen desempeño de cada uno de los equipos.
Espero que la intensidad y la rivalidad se incrementen en la medida que el torneo avance, en correspondencia con la preparación planificada por cada equipo. Esto es clave y hay experiencias que demuestran que no atender este elemento puede ser negativo.
Por lo demás, está siendo una serie competitiva, que los aficionados siguen y que tiene el incentivo de saber que los que aquí están jugando tienen la posibilidad de hacer el equipo nacional para los próximos compromisos internacionales.
