RE: How I got my Hive story published outside of Hive

Great idea!

In Web2, there's a similar process. The research part is what takes up a lot of time. But in Web2, instead of "snippets," I would send a letter of introduction to potential clients with a pitch and a strong call to action. On a good day, I'd get several bites. I still use this strategy when I'm looking for work, and it's been the most effective marketing method I've used in 17 years. I do like your approach, though.

The research part is what takes up a lot of time.

And it is the most common part people tend to skip or de-prioritize!

Because it's hard. And I've been guilty of it myself. But the best way to earn big money as a freelancer is to find a niche, aggressively market yourself to the people you want to work work, and charge what you're worth. It's not easy, but it's worth it.
