If on December 2, 2022, someone had told me that two years later I would still be creating content and enjoying Hive, I wouldn’t have believed it.
The Beginning
I came to Hive motivated by financial gains; I’ll never deny that. The situation in Cuba made it so, but everything happens for a reason.
As soon as I immersed myself in the daily life of this ecosystem, I realized that it wasn’t all about money.
Back then, someone in real life told me that if I was only chasing money, what made me different from a prostitute? Yes, it’s a harsh phrase, but it’s to help you understand that not everything is about money.
Realizing that Hive could be more than just an income, opportunities presented themselves on their own.
I went from seeing Hive as a source of money to viewing it as my refuge.
First Year
During my first year, I set just one goal: to publish at least once a week. I wanted to prove to myself that I could be consistent in something outside my comfort zone.
I had never created content before.
In fact, I always hated literature subjects; I’m more into science. In school, I struggled a lot with writing, which is why the goal for my first year was so important.
In a way, I didn’t meet it.
Two years later, here I am, creating content more than once a week.
During that first year, I discovered accounts that would become my close circle here. Some have helped me improve and push myself every day I’m here. Others have helped me understand life differently, learn new things, and, above all, seek a better version of myself.
There’s no need to mention them; you know who they are.
I never got around to publishing my post from the first year. I suppose there were more important things at that time. That’s how the second year began.
Second Year
Another year without goals. Well, the main goal was to make as much Power Ups as possible 😉
For me, setting goals on Hive is complicated. Curations depend on many factors. Followers are another curious topic because with the Peakd lists option, there’s no need to follow anyone, and engagement doesn’t build overnight.
There’s no manual or magic formula for it. It’s easier to enjoy the process and see how everything evolves.
Time and consistency have shown me that numbers grow on their own (if things are done right)
In this second year, I started to know myself better; I knew what I could offer and aimed to improve my content (the only thing within our control)
In summary, this year has been a craziness.
For the first time, I participated at HiveCubaCon . It was one of the best experiences of the year because it was my first time, and I was on the staff—a memory I’ll never forget, and I’m grateful to have lived it.
After this, I began to collaborate closely with TravelFeed to help grow their project. The collaboration has gone very well, and I know we’ll continue to grow.
I’m not one to follow account statistics closely, but I can tell you that this year they skyrocketed. I also focused on doing more Power Ups because I see myself here celebrating my 7-8 year badge.
During the first year, I had a few months when I stopped everything. This year, although there have been weeks when I didn’t publish, it never lasted that long.
It may seem trivial, but I live in a country where the internet doesn’t reach 2mb of speed, mobile data is terrible, and electricity is becoming scarcer. Every day, uploading content is an odyssey, but that won’t stop us; we’ll keep going.
I know there are many things I’m leaving out, like all the people I met this year. Everything I’ve been able to afford thanks to Hive. Everything I’ve learned from other creators.
As Tarazkp told me the other day: In the time I’ve been on Hive, I’ve learned more about life than in the rest of my life. And that’s how it has been.
It’s all been a whirlwind that only confirms I’m in the right place.
The counter resets to zero... Here’s to another year!
What can you expect from me? Well, much more entertaining content, more Power Ups 😉, and some adventures and projects I have in mind, with Hive at the center of it all. My advice is to stay close.
I have to admit that I need to work on increasing my interaction (damn connection limiting me), so this year I’ll focus more on that.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for staying, for reading me, for voting for me, for commenting, for being here. Thank you ❤️
Without you, I probably would have left by now.
Before I go, I’d love for you to leave me a piece of advice.
It doesn’t matter if you’re new or a dinosaur here; please share your best advice for continuing to grow on Hive.
If you’d like, let me know what keeps you on Hive? Explain a little about what you like and what could be improved. It will be a pleasure to read...
Read you soon!

Congratulations for your two years in Hive, we hope you keep giving us good content. My best regards. 🥰
Congratulations on this second year. Many of the things you have commented I share, of course from outside Cuba. I live in a country where an hour of cleaning is paid better than what you can monetize almost any Hive publication. So, I'm not for monetization for sure. But I understand that in other places there are people who are for this reason. I know of cases, although they will never say so.
I've also set my mind to a weekly publication, and here too there are differences. From Spain it is easier to publish than from Cuba.
All this I have written so far is just to recognize all the merit, all the work behind your publications.
Best regards @dahpilot.
Congrats on reaching the 2 years milestone. It's amazing to always read celebration and look back post like this where I get to learn how Hive could improve someone's life and a way as a personal development too. Cheers to more years on hive 😊
