I just went back and read a few of the posts you mention here. Pretty cool stuff.
I like the "Social That Pays" tag line. It's pithy and catchy. Unfortunately, I don't agree that Hive is like other social platforms. Other platforms cater to a soundbite/meme culture. Hive is geared more towards bloggers and content creators. And often more towards the former.
"We won't upvote/curate anything less than 300 words or with half a dozen original photos" is pretty common here. Hence, anyone who can't write long essays or produce a million photos has a hard time getting into the platform. I think that retention is more difficult than marketing to new people, especially if you use the line "Social that pays" and they join and get nothing because they are used to short form platforms and don't know how to adapt.
I'm grateful and honored you checked out some of my previous posts, and found them cool, thank you!
I aimed for pithy and catchy in most of my brand messaging, so I'm glad that came through. Hive may be as you say currently, but it can always evolve, grin. :) I believe @dbuzz is aiming to solve the 'only long content' issue, and been making decent progress, for example.
I agree retention may be more difficult, but every product has some churn-and-burn in their userbase, and churn-rate is rarely a reason to stop marketing, growing, or attracting newcomers, in my experience. :)
Anyway, you make good points and insights, thanks for sharing here, and wishing you a great day! 🙏
