Muy pocos socios de la cadena saben los detalles intrínsecos del nacimiento de HIVE; incluso éste redactor intentó estar al día en ese tiempo y no pudo. Nadie más que sus grandes protagonistas, han podido dilucidar los entretelones de la épica batalla por la descentralización origen de HIVE, sucedida hace cinco años y desarrollada entre el 14 de Febrero del 2020 (día en que Justin Sun se apropió del "minado ninja") y el 20 de Marzo del mismo año (bloque génesis de HIVE). Lo que sucedió antes y después de ambas fechas, sí es de dominio público, pero intentaremos especular un poco desde la ignorancia. El artículo más parecido a un registro de lo que pasó, está en el enlace sobre éstas líneas (si desea leerlo en español, tendrá que usar un traductor). Pero agregaré antecedentes y consecuencias a nuestra leyenda originaria, con el fin de compartir el porqué sigo creyendo -ahora más que nunca- en HIVE como proyecto sólido a toda prueba.

Very few partners of the chain know the intrinsic details of the birth of HIVE; even this writer tried to keep up to date at the time and could not. No one but its major protagonists have been able to elucidate the behind-the-scenes of the epic battle for decentralization origin of HIVE, which happened five years ago between February 14, 2020 (the day Justin Sun appropriated the “ninja mining”) and March 20 of the same year (genesis block of HIVE). What happened before and after both dates is public knowledge, but we will try to speculate a bit from ignorance. The closest article to a record of what happened is in the link above these lines (if you want to read it in Spanish, you will have to use a translator). But I will add background and consequences to our original legend, in order to share why I still believe -now more than ever- in HIVE as a solid, foolproof project.

Los antecedentes son simples y ejemplarizantes. A los soñadores siempre nos ganan los vivos, pero lo que no saben esos pillos (y jamás lo sabrán) es: nadie se sale con la suya. La justicia tarda, pero llega. Y no siempre en forma de un juicio con jurado y demás, no señor. Quienes están conectados con la energía divina del universo saben a qué me refiero. El 24 de marzo de 2016, se supone los desarrolladores acuñarían el bloque génesis de STEEM, pero Ned Scott y Dan Larimer jugaron sucio minando el 80% de los tokens un día antes y a tal jugada se le llamó "minado ninja" porque se hizo encubriendo las intenciones de ambos. Dan Notestein apenas se dió cuenta un par de semanas después. Lo importante de éste antecedente es que tal minado se prometió como fondo de desarrollo a través de Steemit Inc., algo que los testigos principales siempre estuvieron luchando con Dan y la propia compañía encargada de contratar desarrolladores.

The antecedents are simple and exemplary. The dreamers always get beaten by the living, but what those crooks don't know (and never will) is: no one gets away with it. Justice takes time, but it comes. And not always in the form of a jury trial and so on, no sir. Those who are connected to the divine energy of the universe know what I mean. On March 24, 2016, the developers were supposed to mint the genesis block of STEEM, but Ned Scott and Dan Larimer played dirty by mining 80% of the tokens a day earlier and such a move was called “ninja mining” because it was done by covering up the intentions of both of them. Dan Notestein only found out a couple of weeks later. What is important about this background is that such mining was promised as a development fund through Steemit Inc, something that the main witnesses were always fighting with Dan and the developer hiring company itself.
¿Consecuencias? Desde ese 14 de Febrero de 2020, toda una comunidad se "alzó en armas" y Justin Sun no tuvo respiro, ni quietud. Independientemente que haya sido cierto fue engañado por Dan con la compra del "minado ninja", sus intenciones y acciones siempre se dirigieron en contra de la comunidad, quien se cansó estar detrás de él para que explicara hacia donde íbamos. Quedó claro quería fusionar TRON y STEEM. Quienes hoy somos socios en HIVE, no íbamos a permitir que el espíritu de la creación de una blockchain DESCENTRALIZADA muriera en una operación por cambio de dinero. Ese jamás ha sido la visión para HIVE y jamás lo será. Las reglas de juego cambiaron a partir del HardFork "ECLIPSE" y a partir de allí, cualquiera con mucho dinero tendrá que pagar muy bien si desea hacerse con el control de la cadena. Pero como ésto último jamás sucederá; los hivers tenemos descentralización para rato y un seguro para evitar ataques de toma hostil, entre muchas otras ventajas a partir de aquella guerra.

Consequences? Since that February 14, 2020, an entire community was “up in arms” and Justin Sun had no respite, no quiet. Regardless of whether it was true that he was tricked by Dan with the purchase of the “ninja mining”, his intentions and actions were always directed against the community, who got tired of being behind him to explain where we were going. It became clear that he wanted to merge TRON and STEEM. Nuestra experiencia de cinco hermosos años dentro de HIVE y otros tres años dedicados a la innombrable cadena (tal como nos gusta llamar al bodrio de Justin Sun), nos llena de emoción cuando tenemos el privilegio de poder comparar el antes y el después. Sería demasiado simplista equiparar el precio actual de los tokens (US$ 0.1309 por cada $STEEM, US$ 0.2392 por $HIVE a la hora de escribir el presente artículo) ¿La razón? Ha corrido demasiada agua bajo el puente desde la época de aquellos hechos. Nuestra contribución fue pequeña en el fragor de aquella guerra, escribiendo artículos donde alentamos a la comunidad hispanohablante a dar apoyo a la descentralización y a nuestros testigos no contaminados por el gusano del dinero. ¿Valió la pena? Es un deseo para éste redactor, usted lo comente en el espacio para tal fin y si fue protagonista de aquellos días, mejor aún ¿Cinco años más? Sospecho que HIVE será eterno. Así sea.

Our experience of five beautiful years inside HIVE and another three years dedicated to the unmentionable chain (as we like to call Justin Sun's bodacious), fills us with emotion when we have the privilege of being able to compare before and after. It would be too simplistic to equate the current price of tokens (US$ 0.1309 per $STEEM, US$ 0.2392 per $HIVE at the time of writing) The reason? Too much water has flowed under the bridge since the time of those events. Our contribution was small in the heat of that war, writing articles where we encouraged the Spanish-speaking community to support decentralization and our witnesses not contaminated by the money worm. Una gran historia de la que desconozco demasiado, al menos ahora sé un poco.
Ando por estos rumbos desde los tiempos de la innombrable, a la que llegue como casi todos, atraído por la golosina de las recompensas, y estoy agradecido por todo lo recibido.
Considerando que mi inversión ha sido de tiempo, mucho del cual dedicaba a leer y escribir en otras redes sociales donde solo se reciben deditos arriba o corazoncitos. Voy ganando. Veo con cierto pesar las prolongadas rachas a la baja, pero continuo aquí porque disfruto escribiendo y leyendo, aunque las recompensas me parecen más una lotería que una justa valoración.
Pero este mundo digital, no deja de ser un reflejo del mundo real donde sucede igual.
Ya sabia que la bifurcación fue una duplicación, verlo hoy como una clonación, me deja con la inquietud, de que en alguna manera también clonaron a la serpiente, aunque no muestras de andar por las ramas.
Sin embargo, recuerdo que cuando nos mudamos del otro universo a este, transfiriendo los saldos de HP en las consabidas 13 semanas, lo hicimos siguiendo la ola de los caballeros andantes de lanza en ristre y adarga que a fecha no campean los caminos de la colmena.
Un lustro no es nada, ni siquiera los 3, 2 que ostenta la primigenia creación del misterioso Satoshi, pero como nada es seguro en este mundo y todo implica riesgos, continuo aquí departiendo con los amigos
I already knew that the fork was just a duplication, but seeing it today as a cloning leaves me wondering if somehow they cloned the snake as well, even if it doesn’t seem to slither around the branches.
Still, I remember that when we moved from the other universe to this one, transferring our HP balances over the usual 13 weeks, we did so following the wave of knight-errants, lance in hand and shield on arm, who no longer roam the paths of the hive.
Five years is nothing, not even the sixteen that the original creation of the mysterious Satoshi boasts, but since nothing is certain in this world and everything carries risk, here I remain, sharing moments with friends.
Lo único que puedo responder para aclarar un poco el panorama es:
Cuando "clonaron" la cadena de la cual nos bifurcamos, las serpientes fueron eliminadas porque no les entregaron sus tokens en la nueva comunidad. Aquellos ofidios no recibieron las mieles del triunfo y sus tokens fueron quemados en la repartición con proporción 1 a 1, que si fueron entregados a quienes luchamos contra la centralización.
Como ves, se acabó en aquel tiempo, las alimañas que llevaron a la cadena a tamaña decisión.

Conocer los orígenes siempre es importante, pues así valoramos más lo que tenemos y nos enfocamos en el futuro, uno con descentralización y unión comunitaria. Apenas tengo tres años en Hive, no fui parte de aquellos acontecimientos, pero celebro estos cinco años de compromiso, innovación y grandes proyectos.
Así, es...por ello es nuestra responsabilidad desde cada hiver, saber hablar sobre la historia de la blockchain donde hacemos vida..!
