Don't raise your standard of living in bullmarket.
That's a very good advice. And I've seen and heard of people doing exactly the opposite (raising their standard of living in bull market) and many end up regretting it.

Starting from scratch all the time is neither pleasant nor productive. And if they also spend what they sell and not use it to increase their stakes at a later date, that's like being on a hamster's wheel.
