RE: Hive = crowdfunding [ENG/PL]

in Loving HIVE ❤last year (edited)

Although promoting Hive in this way is quite an interesting idea, I'm not sure about the actual use case in the medium and long term. Sadly, cryptocurrencies are still an extremely volatile asset. Even HBD is, since it's emission depends on the current value of Hive (if it was worth $ 3.8 instead of $ 0.38, you'd basically get ten times more HBD for the same post). Promoting a fundraising project where the outcome could range from, say, $ 10,000 to $ 25,.000 per year may cause a lot of dissapointment among both the donors and the doneers.

Edit: Given that at this moment, investing PLN 1,500 grants you enough HP to "donate" $ 0.01 three thousnad times per year; so let's say to donate $ 30 while not actually spending any money, one might be disappointed learning that due to the price drop, they actually could donate just $ 15.

Sort:

I approach this from the perspective of a creator rather than an investor. If someone has 0 PLN support on Patronite then Hive can still do better, even if the price of tokens changes. Anyway, nothing is certain. Even if someone has patrons on Patronite it is often only for a while.

That is s valid point. Anything is better than zero :)
