This event happened almost two months ago, I know it's already too late but let me share with you, one of my unforgettable Hive Orientations before I left the Island of Cebu Philippines.
Just a quick life update before the orientation story. Last February 16, 2024, I was relocated by my company to my new work assignment here in Lipa Batangas. Due to some adjustments in work and my accommodation I can't find the perfect time to construct the story of this event. Just until today.
This Hive Orientation was conducted last February 10, 2024. It was organized by maam @chimegipamus. One week before the event, Maam @chimegipamus invited us to conduct an Orientation in Naga Cebu Philippines. Of course, we are excited to have a Hive orientation and share this platform with everyone. I asked her if we could do it on Saturday, February 10, 2024, She agreed and informed the attendees about the day and time of orientation.
She initially told us that fifty interested people are willing to learn about Hive and want a face-to-face orientation. I was excited to hear the volume of interested people but I was a bit worried about Veneu, glad that ma'am @chimegipamus found a place for the orientation.
Hive.This time, I asked @chimegipamus and @heyitsjian to be my co-speakers on this event, I gave them the specific topic and shared the presentation with them so they could prepare. By the way, @heyitsjian is not from Naga Cebu, days before the orientation she asked in our group chat if she could join and bring her friends who also want to learn the platform. Originally, in this kind of Hive Orientation with me are @indayclara and @ybanezkim26. They are the people behind spreading Hive in Cebu and also in other points of the Country. But due to unavailability and other circumstances, they can't join us.
venue) it was just a few steps away from the corner we lost 😅.Day of Orientation, from Cebu City, we traveled for one and a half hours to reach the City of Naga Cebu, together with @heyitsjian and one of her friends. We drop in SM Naga and follow the directions given to us by maam @chimegipamus. Funny on this part we almost lost on our way, Glad that when we asked the lady where is this place (
it creates community, connections, new friends, and a family through the Hive platform.It's my first time in the area and It is also my first time to meet ma'am @chimegipamus. I just met her inside the platform and finally, we met personally. It is one of the things I like in Hive,
I was happy when I saw the familiar face of ma'am @chimegipamus who welcomed us in the gate. We arrive at the venue ahead of time. There are attendees already inside. Maam @chimegipamus let us take a rest from the travel while waiting for the others. She gives us snacks and some food to eat.
A few minutes later, I started to set up my presentation material and asked them to have an attendance. We have 30 attendees present and ready to learn about the platform.
The Orientation began with a prayer led by the husband of ma'am @chimegipamus. Then I followed by Introducing ourselves, The purpose why we are conducting the orientation, and why we are escalating the Hive Platform in Naga.
Introducing the Blockchain and Web 3 Platform
I introduced to them this Web 3 platform called Hive and its difference to social media such as Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and Twitter that we commonly use nowadays. I also give them insight about a blockchain and the world of Decentralized platforms.
Hive Front-Ends and Reward System
We also share with them the different front-ends of Hive Blockchain. From the social media, games, arts, and others that everyone can explore and try when they are starting their journey in Hive. We also discuss the reward system of the platform, especially in blogging and how could they withdraw it afterward.
Exploring PeakD
Then I give the mic to @heyitsjian to navigate everyone inside the @PeakD.She starts discussing the profile, and then gives an overview of a blog. She also discusses the different communities in the platform and the rules in it. Then she discusses how to engage and support the other blogs . Lastly, she demonstrated how to create a blog in @peakD and gave tips to make your blog more enticing. It's her first time being a speaker in the Hive orientation and I'm very proud how she nailed it.
Before the next part, ma'am @chimegipamus prepare some games and a few prizes to make the event more interesting. The game is about the discussion to measure if they listen and take note of the discussion. It's fun and happy to see everyone joining the games.
How to Create an Introductory Blog.
After @Itsmejian, Maam @chimegipamus followed by guiding the aspiring newbie in creating their Introductory blog. By the way, we are requiring the newly onboard to publish their first blog by Introducing their self. To prove the authentication and personality of a person. Maam @chimegipamus shows an example of an Introductory blog to give them an Idea of the content of their blog.
Do's and Dont's
We also share with them the dos and don'ts of the platform. We highlighted the engagement and creating an authentic blog. We pointed out how sinful it is to plagiarism and create a blog using AI. We also give some tips so they can connect and find a proper community in which they fit.
Lastly is the Question and answer portion. It was an interactive part where we clarified attendees' questions. I was happy with their questions cause they showed how they are agile in learning more about the platform.
Before Ending the orientation, we also have a photo opt. With the attendees and also with the other speakers and guests. It makes me smile how this volume of attendees smiles in this photo after the orientation. Hoping they grasp the information we shared with them.
At the end, ma'am @chimegipamus prepares delightful snacks for everyone. A sandwich and juice that fills up our stomachs. We don't only go home full of learnings about the platform, we also go home satiated.

From this batch of orientation in Naga Cebu, a lot have started their journey already and now exploring deep the Hive platform. From the initiative of @chimegipamus, they are now creating a Hiver community in the southern part of Cebu Island.
It's my first time conducting a Hive Orientation in the Southern side of Cebu, We often do it in the North and Cebu City. Now we have widened up our radius of Escalating Hive and now starting to dominate the Southern part of Cebu Island. And to tell you guys It is Just a Beginning.
For everyone information, this orientation is associated with the @OCD initiative onboarding program. We are doing this to support and guide every newbie on the platform to make their journey in Hive more colorful and full of support.
