Parties are fun and who says we can't have fun on a halloween? Well, not for Hive! Coz we've got Hivelloween! π
I have only seen halloween parties and people doing 'trick or treat' on television and social media posts but never in actual sight. But a week ago, I just had my first-ever-halloween-party-in-costume!! π» Finally! It was a courageous thing to make (and challenging, lol) but at the same time a dream come true. I have always wanted to experience halloween parties but never really had the courage to dress up or join one. So I'm definitely not forgetting this!
Choosing a character to portray sure is a difficult thing. You have to consider your budget, the time left to prepare, and ofcourse how you might look! Needless to say, I opted for a low budget look that I'm sure I won't have to cash out and spend much time to prepare. And since I had an old student nurse uniform that would perfectly ensemble nurses uniforms back in Nightingale's years, I chose to play as a HAUNTED NURSE. Do you know any haunted hospital stories? Have you heard stories like nurses in old uniforms contrary to the uniform styles used as of today were the ones doing rounds or giving medications and regulating IV fluids to patients late at night? Oops! Didn't mean to scare you. Hahaha!
I know. Let's get back to the party. So as I ws saying, it was a last minute idea I had conformed since I was so busy with work weeks before the scheduled party. I had no time to prepare. Barely minimum at that. So I had to use whatever is available..
On the day of the event, I went to the venue a bit earlier than expected. I came with @simpledemple who by the way, has not joined any halloween parties too! Gladly, I had the time to be of little help for the preparation of decorations. @gerel was so creative to be able to make those plans into actual set-up! And she's so hands-on doing the decorations. Totally lit! More designs to come up soon in the next events miss @gerel .
As soon as the Hive sisters' room was available, well, we hitched to change and dress up and we're so lucky to have our make-up done by the sassiest woman in Cebu @sassycebuana .
*A little backstory, it's been the second time @sassycebuana did my make up. Last time was when we attended a wedding and she always scores it best! Thanks for making us beautiful, te!

When we're all set and ready, we came down and saw all Hivers in their spooky character outfit. I was so amazed when I have seen the queen of death βLa Muerte portrayed by @gwenfinity . Reminds me of the movies Book of Life and Coco which has comforted me so much in the past years. My heart fluttered. Too bad I wasn't able to take a photo with her.
Everybody was all hyped-up and the party started with an opening remarks by the organizers @purepinay and @sassycebuana . But what is party without the versatile host @swaycanete .
We had games, raffle draws and fun.

But would you believe it is scary in halloween parties too? Haha! The scariest thing happened when we were asked to walk the runway! Dun-dun-dun Uhh, my chest was pounding really hard! But it's insane when suddenly, I was on stage but I don't feel anything at all but happy. When people are cheering and all smiling βit gives all the feels. It was all great! I can't even believe I had won a place for my first time. Truly a day to remember.

One of the most awaited part was the dinner. I absolutely had an amazing meal at the hotel. Thanks for the lechon @purepinay ! A party wouldn't be complete without a lechon. I had lechon so I had to skip the sweets for health maintenance purposes (lol) but all the foods and even the juice drink were all 10/10 for me.
And in all that, the rest is history βa night to remember and one day, to reminisce. Unfortunately, I had to miss the dance party and went home earlier than others because of work the following day.

To my Hive family here in Cebu βthe Hivelloween organizers @purepinay @sassycebuana, everyone who made this all possible and attended Hive Cebu's first ever event, I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this and daghang salamat for being a part of this memorable experience and for helping me tick off one of my bucketlist.
If I had something to say from this event, it is that all things has it's own time and purpose. This was my first halloween event that has somehow helped me come out from my shell while feeling welcomed to a community I have come to engage with for the first time. I have never had this before but that night, it felt as if it is why I have never joined halloween parties before. To feel more and enjoy more in this moment of time. And with this season of souls and saints, may we appreciate life more, and inspire before we expire.
I'd definitely be scrolling over in this post whenever I'll miss this day, that's for sure.
