Unlocking the Power of Web3 Hive Blockchain: A Successful Orientation at Workplace Café in Mandaue City

in Loving HIVE ❤9 months ago

Hello, wonderful people in Hive! How have you been? I hope you’re all safe and sound. I’ve been on hiatus from posting blogs for more than a week already due to some significant errands. But today, allow me to share with you this orientation we had just last February 3, 2024, at Workplace Café in Mandaue City.

I’ve requested another orientation in the city from the OCD onboarders because there have been other enthusiastic and aspiring people that want to join Hive. They’re from the same university as mine, some are my classmates and some are from the other sections.

If you ever bumped into my previous blog, we already had a Hive orientation through the support of OCD onboarding program at Workplace Café in Guadalupe Cebu City branch. That was my first time requesting an orientation in Cebu City and gratefully has been granted, with 10 invites in total onboarded by my esteemed OCD onboarder, sir @intoy.bugoy. From that, 7/10 has already entered Hive namely @maryjolly, @mxrvieee, @digdeeper2, @gracialicious, @jenny0113, @ladyciudad, and @ikaycutie. ✨

Last February 3, our second orientation in the city was held in Workplace Café in Mandaue. This was supposed to be pushed through in the last weeks of January, but our heavy paperwork at school won’t allow us. Thus, we finished everything first. After that, I coordinated with sir @intoy.bugoy if we could conduct another orientation in the city. We had a quick discussion in terms of everyone’s availability, location, and meeting time. Sir @ybanezkim26 joined us in this orientation as well. Following that, sir @intoy.bugoy then booked a meeting room in Workplace Café from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. I arrived there at exactly 8:14 am. I left home early to avoid being stuck in the traffic and to be able to locate the café first so that I could provide better direction to the attendees, who mostly also came from places far from Mandaue.

Sir @ybanezkim26 and sir @intoy.bugoy set up everything while I fetched the other attendees outside. When all attendees arrived, we started initially with an introduction of ourselves, including our passions, interests, and hobbies. Then, we officially started the orientation.
WHAT IS HIVE?
Of course, the attendees have been introduced to what is Hive, how it started, and how it works. Sir @ybanezkim26 did the honor to discuss with the aspiring writers the beauty of embracing Web 3.0. since honestly as of now we don't have much yet exposure to Web 3.0 concepts instead we're still currently utilizing Web 2.0 platforms. Thus, just like how I constantly felt on my first days in Hive, up until now, the attendees got very keen and interested in the platform, most especially since it's a decentralized blockchain.
Then everyone was introduced to the Hive ecosystem, its communities, applications, and projects. What makes Hive great, is that it's very inclusive to whatever people's passion and interests are, may it be writing, gaming, drawing, and much more aside from that. They were taught about all the things concerning Hive including the difference between HIVE and Hive. As always discussed, HIVE is the cryptocurrency that's being used by the Hive blockchain ecosystem while Hive is the platform itself.
PEAKD INTERFACE AND NAVIGATION TOOLS

When everything about the Hive ecosystem was already tackled, sir @intoy.bugoy tasked me to discuss the Peakd interface and navigation tools. Peakd was presented due to its rich features and user-friendly functionalities. It'll be very easy for the attendees to understand how the world of Hive works. But of course, they've been told also about the alternative applications that they could use such as hive.blog, Ecency, and more. I discussed everything regarding the Peakd interface and provided them with helpful tips in terms of posting, commenting, reblogging, subscribing to communities according to their likes, and engaging. Yes, everyone was taught, encouraged, and reminded of the importance of engagement as a way of showing appreciation and support to other content creators. Also, is the significance of posting quality blogs, putting them in the right community, and following the corresponding rules of a specific community.

WHAT IS OCD?
It was followed by sir @intoy.bugoy discussing more about the Original Content Decentralized (OCD) community. The orientation was again supported by the OCD onboarding program. The aspiring content creators were told how the program works and what are its projects. Most importantly, everyone was mentored on the DOs and was instructed of the DON'Ts. Though it's already given that everyone should write original content, everyone is constantly reinforced and reminded to publish original and quality write-ups only. The dos and don'ts have been highlighted especially plagiarized and AI content has become rampant today. Everyone was told beforehand of the negative repercussions and consequences they might face when abusing integrity, the rules, and the regulations.
ADDRESSING THE FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS
As one of the essential parts before ending the orientation, attendees were asked if they had any questions or clarifications. All the questions have been addressed, and they are all happy and excited at the same time to enter Hive! By the way, there are already two attendees who have successfully joined Hive, and they are @cherryblossoms9 and @layyy21.
As time goes by, this online community gets bigger. I hope that we'll all continue to have strong connections and establish support and a sense of appreciation towards everyone who has been with us since day one on this journey in Hive and to everyone inside this platform. In the next 7 days, I'll be five months here in Hive and I've always been grateful for sir @ybanezkim26, miss @indayclara, and especially sir @intoy.bugoy who have mentored and inspired me along the way.
Just like I always am, these people are all aspiring Hivers who are very much overwhelmed by the presence of the Hive blockchain, which wasn't initially familiar to us, honestly. But because of these esteemed individuals successfully sharing Hive, it has then become slowly known to everyone. As for that, let us all cheer for quality content and more built connections! May we all continue to be happy and grateful for everything and everyone.
