Empowering Communities and Creators in the Web3 Era
If you haven’t followed our journey with @menulisid, We’ve got great news!
Why the Title?
The title reflects a mission to empower creators and communities by providing creators with the tools, access, and opportunities to participate in Web3. This will create an awareness to the participants that Hive is their gateway exploring Web3, blockchain and beyond where they can explore and contribute to it.
Who is Our Target Demographic?
Based on the data gathered, our participants and attendees are primarily aged 19–25 and represent various regions across Indonesia. While 65 participants registered for this event, only about 44 attended the technical meeting in person. The remaining participants relied on recordings and PDFs that we shared via email containing how to create an account on Hive. We also provide links to youtube and canva recording.
Here’s a recap of the event.
On Sunday, we’ve successfully organized an online meet where I was talking about Hive and menulisid talked about their community and the contest rules. We have an audience of 48 people that attended our online technical meeting including some people that I personally invited.
As a part of introducing Hive to the Indonesian audience, with @menulisid, we created a contest that in hope captures attention, creates a memorable first impression as well as familiarizing people with Hive. Since our audience is mostly writers, bloggers, journalists and literary enthusiasts, it was fitting to create a contest where creativity is celebrated. The participants will also get a clear sense on how some parts of hive can align with their hobby and life’s passion.
Before you’re reading further, as always, I’d like to provide some TLDR in case you want to skim through the details.
- Our contest poster is looking as below and it has garnered quite a bit of impression This poster was made by @menulisid graphic designer.
The blog competition theme is "Digital Literacy: Smart Writing in the Era of Technology" ( they are encouraged to create meaningful and responsible content on digital platforms)
There are sub themes such as : Opinions on Writing in the Digital Era: Challenges and Opportunities for Today's Writers, Combating Hoaxes: Digital Literacy to Counter Fake News, Using AI for Writing: Benefits and Limitations, Essay/Opinion: Digital Identity and "Personal Empowerment
Timeline
This is our timeline and progress at the moment
The participants are encouraged to post on hive with their contest submission through peakd.com
The participants have the freedom to post in English or Indonesia. Please give some leniency as they are new to this and we give them freedom to post in language they are most comfortable with.
We also make sure that the submission is free of plagiarism and AI. In any case they are found to be plagiarizing a content and using entirely AI to make their content and not their own opinion and such, it will be dealt with accordingly.
In this post below you can find some of my presentation materials and some transcript as well as a youtube link where I was uploading the webinar and the technical meeting of the contest.
Below is also attached some data from our participants and attendees as well as some pre-survey that could indicate their interest in Hive. We will finalize the funding report and details once the grand event is done.
I will personally do a follow-up after the contest to create more momentum from the event and to ensure some type of retention from the participants.
@Anggreklestari was contacting me to sponsor 45 Hives for each winner. Thank you so much for this additional fund, we greatly appreciate it.
Poster impression
During this event, this poster was shared and gained quite a bit of impression. As you can see below, these are some of the results of impressions from those who shared the event. The poster has hive logo and is linked to Hive’s website and online presence all around Web2.
Youtube Link
If you want to see the presentation and Hive presentation, this is the link attached to the youtube. We’ll be uploading our offline event in this channel as well, so stay tuned for more especially for the grand event in January.
Presentation and Hive’s 2025 Calendar
Since the presentation are in Indonesian, This is a part of the excerpt of the translation what I talked about "Hive"
First I started the introduction and mentioned that I’ve been on this chain for 7 years and then I also founded Hive book club and so on. This was the profile page. Then I asked the participants to imagine Hive is like a library except it’s digital.
So, why library?
Inside a library there is a lot of information and data stored, being exchanged and consumed. Just like Hive where we can access information, create and store content/information and that can be shared to anyone.
It’s digital, which means it can be accessed by anyone regardless of their geographical location.
Hive is decentralized and that means Hive is managed by its communities unlike a library that is managed by one entity or corporation.
There’s also “incentives”. Just like when we visit the library, we can borrow books, read books or just being present inside the library. Hive is pretty much like that, we can read content, create content, engage with the communities. The only difference is that since Hive is built on top of blockchain, there is a tokenization system that is tied to it.
In the presentation, I mentioned the word “ appreciation” rather than “Earning” because appreciation has this meaning, “ recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.” - from google. It isn’t inferring that they can “earn” but rather “appreciated” by the things they created. I mean appreciation can be in a form of comment, and upvotes/likes too. The possibilities are endless.
How to Sign Up graphic and PPT in Indonesia
Thank you to @hivecreators for having some useful resources and great graphic to incorporate into any presentation
Hive 2025 Calendar
I made this calendar with graphic provided by @doze but adding QR code to it so people can go to the main page of Hive.io if they choose to do so. I have this calendar printed an is one of our merchandise during the offline event.
Pre-event survey
A day before the event, I sent out a small survey trying to map out the comprehension of the audience and their interest. The survey title is Explore New Realm of Blockchain and Hive. We sent out to all the 65 participants but only 12 out 25 responses
How familiar are they with blockchain ?
Have they ever interracted with Hive or blockchain based platform?
What are hive aspects that they want to know more?
As you can see from the result it's basically " How does Hive work?"
Recognition
Thank you for @ocd and @acidyo for sponsoring the event, thank you everyone for upvoting our posts and contributing to the success of our event,I also extend my gratitude to @hivecreators and @doze who provided the graphic free to use for us to promote Hive. Last but not least, all the participants and @menulisid team. CC @gtg @ekavieka and @anggreklestari.

It is impressive how much can be generated to keep encouraging people to join Hive. I am sure that here on the platform there are many quality content creators who can also promote and capture the attention of many people in many parts of the world. Excellent job, much success and may this also incentivize from within to continue giving more support and growth to Hive 😎❤️👏👏👏
There's always something to do around here hehe. Thank you for checking this one out as well ☺️
That's a valuable truth ☺️
Of course, more enthusiasts will join Hive. However, what is more important is how new Hive users will continue to blog on Hive after the internal event is over. Hopefully, the weekly small challenges can continue so that they remain active.
Well, maybe for the next update, it can also be updated through the official @menulisid account so that Indonesian users will also find it easier to get important information from there :)
Keep it up.
Retention and making them part of the community is definitely the real challenge of this all. So, that's a big homework I need to do to after these events to keep them interested hehe and willing to engage around here
Greta job, keep it up!
Thanks! it's still half of the journey :)
community effort and rewards
Indeed!
Appreciation instead of earnings is a brilliant use of language -- building the right expectations is important! Well done overall -- this was a lot!
Building the right expectation with efficient word is important. It could also affect the messaging too hehe. Thank you so much, I know I am dumping a lot of updates all at once but this will be a good reference when I'll do my final report and final decision if it's worthy to pursue further or to stop. Thank you so much for checking out☺️
