I didn't know that this day would come but the willingness and determination of my co-teachers along with some college students and other interested individuals to listen to everything about Hive as well as the welcoming attitudes and full support of the Hive experts @indayclara, sir @ybanezkim26 with @intoy.bugoy,
made this big day happen - the Hive Onboarding Orientation/Seminar in Kal-anan National High School.
With sir Kim's and inday's positive affirmation that they were willing to facilitate this Hive orientation,I took the initiative to create a Group Chat (GC) for Hive Joiners along with other Hive Teacher Bloggers for easy access and communication with everyone regarding their attendance and participation to this activity. Opportunity knocks only once so with confidence and motivation, I told my invites not to miss this chance to attend and experience change!(chuckles)
As the big day was fast approaching, @selflessgem, @callmesmile and I
did the planning especially with the food preparations and I was glad other teacher bloggers also like @melit79, @naymhapz, @ciadanmea, @jobeliever, @netswriting, @dehai were more than willing to contribute to realize the plan.
The Orientation Day
After my routine walking with our dear Sabrina (our playful Husky pet) out, I prepared the buko lamaw made from the scraped young coconut with coconut milk, condensed milk and biscuits for our dessert when I arrived home. The gathering of young coconuts for the refreshments during the orientation was facilitated by the husband the day before.
It was about 9 o'clock in the morning that I arrived in Kal-anan National High School, the school where I am currently teaching, and @selflessgem and @callmesmile were already there ahead of me. Only about 1 or 2 new Hive joiners have arrived and I was a bit worried if others would come when it was already 9am. But I felt happy to see sir Kim @ybanezkim26 , @indayclara and @intoy.bugoy at the front gate as well as other participants to the orientation.
The Interactive Seminar
With the charm and cheerful personality of @indayclara, the seminar started with me and @selflessgem sharing our journey in the Hive world as well as how it brought a wonderful impact to our lives as bloggers. It, then, became interactive as she threw the ball to the participants to share about what they love to do in their free time and how these hobbies can be catered into proper communities to post into in the Hive blockchain.
And of course the presence of other experienced Hive bloggers such as @callmesmile, @naymhapz, @ciadanmea, @jobeliever, @netswriting, @virgoxsy as well as the newbie @annetimistic briefly sharing what their posts were usually about and how long they have been on Hive should be enough to encourage and motivate newbies to the platform.
Learning from the Experts
Significantly, what's more inspiring than hearing from the resource speakers, inday and sir Kim, giving up their profession of being licensed engineers in their fields to focus on Hive. From the looks of it, there should be more to the Hive blockchain that made them decide to stay and grow here and it seems they have found a happy home in the platform with their very positive aura and carefree attitude.
It was sir @ybanezkim26 who facilitated the talk about Hive and its Ecosystem and other significant details about the platform. We were all ears as he explained every detail thoroughly giving an impression of being an expert of Hive. Hearing all of it from sir Kim, I realized how little was my knowledge about Hive and I am glad I get to learn all these organizing and facilitating this orientation.
Going to the basics of Hive, @indayclara and @intoy.bugoy made it easy and simple for the listeners to understand blogging for starters by introducing and presenting to everyone a run-through of the PeakD interface. Despite the struggle with internet connectivity (My bad I didn't get to see this coming and not making this set ahead of time being one of the organizers of the orientation), both managed to make it through sharing every detail entertaining queries as well regarding the topic. It was, indeed, an interactive and informative discussion leaving no trace of confusion among the participants. Whew! The orientation was a success!
Creating a Bond with Food
And of course, the orientation won't be complete without us sharing the good mood with the food on the table. It was @selflessgem who took the initiative to bring her homemade macaroons for dessert as well as the "hanging rice" to pair with the lechon manok or roasted chicken and pizza we ordered from the center of the town. We we're thankful to @mrexperienciado who volunteered to buy these food from a place quite a distance from the venue.
Sharing what we have on the table was a bond of friendship and camaraderie created because of this Hive Onboarding Orientation! With Hive, I felt more connected with other teacher bloggers which we might not be able to experience without Hive. Indeed, Hive does not only give a very positive impact to our lives economically but also in social and emotional aspects. With this, I should say I'm loving Hive more and I'm always grateful to @naymhapz and @callmesmile for introducing me to this wonderful platform.
The seminar concluded with all the Hive joiners and onboarders taking photo ops with our very gracious resource speakers sir Kim @ybanezkim26, @indayclara and @intoy.bugoy but there's only one thing that I missed during this orientation. It was a photo op with each of our resource speakers! Perhaps, there's still next time and I should not let this opportunity pass.🤞 (chuckles)
It was, indeed, a fruitful and meaningful day for everyone having attended this Hive Onboarding Seminar at Kal-anan National High School. The opportunity that may come only once!
And this is all for today's blog dear Hivers. Thank you for reaching this far. See you again on my next. Until then....
All photos are mine unless stated otherwise.
Even if 1-2 person might make it to such onboarding events, we will still push through. You never know how Hive might help that person's life. 😉
So dili rjud maguol sa mga future puhon.
