I'm not a professional photographer, but I like to curate good posts on HIVE and by doing that "job" I saw a lot of great photographer posts that aren't appreciated enough as they have 1 photo and almost no text... As much as that is OK for Facebook or Instagram, people on HIVE expect a bit more "personal touch" with the author...
In this blogging post, I would like to share some of the things that I have learned about posting on this great platform... As you can see from my other posts, I'm far away from being a whale, or being a member of an exclusive "HIVE club"... 😃 I don't post ONLY photography content, but I like to curate great travel blogs or nice photos in a certain niche...

I know that you are searching for a "perfect photo" when you are doing them... I do that too... It's almost always the case that after creating 1000 photos, only 1-2 can pass as (almost) perfect photos... But... That doesn't mean that the rest 999 photos are bad... They are just "not perfect", but they still have value... Don't forget that...
I would like to share a couple of tips for photographers that would like to share their work on HIVE and grow on this platform... A couple of advice for content creation, NOT advice for taking photos (I'm a noob there... 😃)...
1. Create photo collections instead of posting one photo with 1 sentence
This is probably the most important advice... As I said at the beginning, while posting 1 super-photo from your vacation is great for Facebook or Instagram, it's not a good idea to do it like that on HIVE... We all know that you made hundreds of photos on that vacation, so why not share a bit more with others? Not all but 5, 10, or 20 maybe?
2. Describe your photo collection and your photos from it...
This is probably the biggest obstacle for many photographers... I have an artist friend who does a lot of painting, but also, he likes photography... For him, putting words "around hit art" is a sin! 😃 In some way, it is, as art should speak for itself... But, on the other side, you can write about REASONS why did you take that specific photo... What was interesting that day? You will not do the crime of "talking instead of your photo", but you will rather give more "background" to it... People like that!
3. Share those bad photos too!
This is another tough one... Why would I show that I'm weak? 😃 We understand that a photographer can't make ALL great photos... It's like expecting some athlete to break records every time he performs... Now, when we accept that, we can maybe help others to avoid some mistakes...
Explain why you think that the photo is bad... Maybe you made another one to improve it... Show what you have done to do it better... Share your knowledge with less experienced photographers and they will appreciate it!
By implementing these small tips you will create additional value for your HIVE posts! They will not be just a "one-photo-post", but rather a story that can help others to grow and you to get more friends that have similar interests (and thinking) like you!
Thank you for your time,
~ph~

Beautiful post, it can help newcomers a lot. But I have to tell you one thing, the first two points are the absolute basis for publishing a correct and good post on Hive, but you really surprised me with the third point!!! I thought about it for a moment, and you're right friend, in fact, without realizing it, I sometimes did it in my posts, because maybe there was a shot with an important image for the thread of the text, which however came out a bit badly, I used it anyway often describing why that photo was like that. I hadn't thought of it as an added value, but it actually can be.
I have to ask you something, I wanted to support you as a witness for the good work you are doing with your project, but it gives me an error when I try to validate your name. With which profile are you or are you a witness? Or is Hive-Engine Witness something different from Hive witness? If it's different, can the Engine Witnesses be voted too?
Have a happy weekend ;).
Thank you so much for this great comment!
The thing with publishing bad photos is a kind of an "ego-killer" 😃 It's hard for us people to show that we can make a mistake, but in the larger picture, what you said has 100% sense... Maybe behind that one photo lays an amazing story that will not be told if we decide to NOT publish it... IMO, it's important to show everyone that we can make mistakes and nobody is perfect (despite all those fantastic photos on FB and IG 😃)
The "value" of your vote depends on your number of staked WORKERBEE tokens...Thanks a lot... You are right, I run ONLY the Hive-Engine witness node and it's completely different from HIVE witness... It is used to support the Hive-Engine sidechain and all the tokens that run there... You can find more details here https://tribaldex.com/witnesses
Btw, I have noticed that you are from Vicenza... I'm passing by Vicenza every summer with my family and for the last 2-3 years, we made a road trip break there for a day... You have nice (and cheap) hotels compared to other cities... My favorite is Tiepolo... Maybe next time I can bring fishing rods and you can show me some good fishing spots... 😃
Have a great weekend!

Sorry for the delay. For the question of the photos you are absolutely right, the fact that a special story is lost because of a photo that is not the best would be a shame.
For the Hive-Engine Witness, I can't support you and I'm sorry, but I don't have any WORKERBEE Token. But if in the future I start staking those Tokens I will give you my support.
I'm very pleased that you know Vicenza, it's a fairly quiet and pleasant place. In this area there are few natural lakes though, but there are many rivers where you can catch good fish. If you stop by next summer, write me first on discord, my name is the same as Hive, @stea90, I will gladly take you fishing ;).
Have a nice day ;)

Wow! These are three great tips for content making about photography. There is something inside of me that I love photography but I don't have enough knowledge about it but still hoping that someday, somehow I could learn more about it.
Thank you for this piece of advise @ph1102.
I like photography too, but I'm a complete amateur... I do have a digital camera, but almost always I do photos with my mobile phone... lol...
When I see a talented photographer posting on HIVE without receiving the support that deserves, I feel bad... I know that some curators on HIVE can be very picky with the content here, but what makes this place different from others is that "personal touch"... and writing words around your art is a good way to make new bonds with your audience...
Thanks for your kind words!
!PIZZA for you! 😃
Oh I think you better give your digital camera to me so I can try and practice on it, lol, just kidding. I haven't tried using digital camera and I don't have even an idea how to use it, lol. I am really curious about it and how I wish to borrow some and try to click it but opportunity didn't appear until now, lol.
I just needed a post like this in the beginning. Just three points, but that's what separates the photo post from the upvotes)

I call them artistic ones :p and do share one from time to time. But only if I like something else about it (it might be the colours or some completely out of focus movement) and just as an extra.
Good tips!

Thanks for tipu curation! Yeah, those are "artistic photos"... :) Usually, I do them when all are bad, so I HAVE to pick one-two... 😂

100% agree with all three points.
Am in the process of making such post with a collection. I deliberately lowered the quality of the photographs already, since I found a great filter in my GIMP software that I started testing and found the results pretty interesting. Anyways, one day I'll post that one. Need to finish the stories around it still ;)
Hehehehe... Can't wait to see the photos and the story... :)

Well, its a series of kinda travel, city, DIY activity photos. Not even close to quality photos 😂 Originally I was thinking of an alternatieve story for Wednesday Walk community. Although have some other stories in mind as well. Perhaps you have a suggestion for a community (or two) where photos and stories come together?
I'm doing it in Wednesday Walk and Weekend Experiences communities...
Ahhh Weekend Experience is a nice one indeed. Thanks for this.
Thank you very much for the tips. This is enough to guide people like me already. I also love the fact that you asked us to share the bad ones too.
We don't have to wait until our picture is perfect before we share them. That may take years.
Thanks for the lecture
This is similar to when crypto people want to "catch the bottom" and buy some coin for the lowest price before it goes up... 😃 It's very hard to do it, and most likely, you will not do it... But, if you are buying small parts when the price goes down, you will see results in the long term...
If we wait for a perfect photo, maybe we will never publish any... ;)

I'm still learning about Hive posts. Already tole me to show more about my creations process instead of just showing one picture. But when i start drawing i just forget to take pictures from process.
Will try harder this year.
Tks for the tips
Hmmm... One personalized tip for you... Record yourself with a camera... Turn in when you begin and turn off when you are done... 😃
I saw a lot of great posts where people would take pictures during the process, record the whole process, and create a short speedup video, or a timelapse video...
Just looked at your blog... You are doing some great drawings!
All the best!!

I believe that these are pretty awesome tips for photo posts. I agree, I won't upvote posts with a single photo and one line of text. If you put the photos into contexte and give some background info around it, then I have no problem giving nice upvotes :-)
I think that most people think in the same way as you... Yes, a photo can be extraordinary, but it's nice to learn something more about it... ;)
!PIZZA
Thanks for the info, you have also shown us in the way you have formatted the post.
Heheheeh... Well, this wasn't my photo, but you can find my older posts where you will see what I meant... 😃
Thanks for checking out my post!

Very good points! For me, one of the common problems is... lazyness. It's not the case for some, but more often than not some users want to reap the rewards, but unwilling to put in the extra work, even if it is just a couple of minutes, to share a little bit more about the how's and the why's. And btw, I think your photos are awesome! !PIZZA
Thanks for your kind words about my photos... I know that they aren't pros, but every photo is a great memory... and that's the most important for me... Also, if I succeed to share some of that "good feeling" with readers, I'm even happier... ;)
Regarding laziness... I know the feeling as I'm lazy sometimes myself... lol... Lately, if I'm lazy, I don't create a post at all... As if I do so, and create some shitpost, I know that I will pay the price in the long-term (lose readers, followers, and most important, respect)...
!PIZZA
We're all lazy sometimes, we're humans! ;) !PIZZA
Awesome tips mate, I'm trying to improve my photography skills and hive is pretty much helping me a lot.
I always make a collection of photos first than share it with some personal touch, story... Couldn't agree more on that 1000 photos and only 2-3 perfect shots.. I can relate with it though still find a way to make other look fits into story.
Also I Capture photos using Smartphone not so expensive so camera is just fine doesn't matter that much.
You're Amazing soul I met on Hive... Still remember few months back when I was trying to Get better at clicking Pictures and shared some in post which Got muted by a community saying quality of picture isn't Good and we only accept professional ain't no place for bad photos.
Since then decided to make a pro collection and sharing it on hive and good people are encouraging me to get better. Glad to learn something from you.
There are numerous HIVE communities about photography... Some of them are for "professional photographers", but a lot of them are for us, ordinary Hivers... 😃 I know that my photos aren't pro, but I like to send a different message by posting them... They are usually from y travel journeys or walks in nature... Photos of beautiful things can't be bad... 😃
Thanks for the comment and good luck with improving your skills!
!PIZZA
Yeah, true.... looking forward to see your photos!
Thank you! Have a Great weekend.
Good tips I'm sure that will help the newbies a lot, as a freelancer artist doing phtography, painting and graphic design it's hard to get the interaction and appreciation my works deserve but may that come with time
Thanks for the comment!
It is hard to get attention these days... Competition is fierce and artists have to offer something more, something extra, to be successful... Consistency and personal touch can help in achieving that... ;)
