This small project started from a random chat at Tomorrow cafe which just opened in a small city in the eastern region of the island of Java Indonesia. I as one of the founders of @menulisid id really wanted to celebrate the anniversary of Menulis.id to be even more festive and could be followed by many people.
At the beginning, @menulisid team and I had planned to do an online writing competition that would be held in December, with a total prize that was not too much for each winner (because the plan would be taken from the team's joint venture).
Continuing, I met @macchiata who happened to be in the same city, finally we shared about many things and we decided to collaborate as I have a writing community and I see Hive is a great place for us to learn more too
After a fun and interesting discussion, we finally made a plan together to make some activities, with goals that are win win solutions for both sides of Hive and Menulis.id. It took us approximately four months to prepare all of this.
Starting from the online and offline activities that took place yesterday, quite a lot of energy and material was spent. Until finally it can be an event that is quite fun and can have impact for many people, especially those who have the same hobby in the world of writing.
In fact, one of the problems for writers in Indonesia is the difficulty in monetising and content distribution of the writing that has been produced. This is what I think Hive can overcome through one of its platforms, PeakD.
As a result, according to predictions, there were more than 60 people who participated in the online event during the technical meeting and those who managed to submit work were around 30 people, from this number there has been an interesting account activation for Hive with a suitable crowd. Continuing to the offline event which successfully took place quite properly with a lot of merchandise and benefits obtained by the participants who participated.
Offline Event
The event took place over half a day and was successfully attended by a large number of writers, journalists and book lovers who live in Surabaya. It was an interesting combination of people who were enthusiastic to learn new things about Hive and writing in line with our first anniversary theme.
The enthusiasm of the event participants is still felt until now, because there are still many posts on their social media about the event that was successfully held last Sunday, many of them continue to chat and share related to many things after the event, mostly they exchange views on the ecosystem of writers, hobbies and reading books.
Big Thanks
Personally, I would like to say a big thank you to the various friends who have supported the @menulisid event, especially @machiata who has been willing to take the time and energy to organise all of this. Hopefully events like this can be done in many cities in Indonesia, and many writers in other cities are eager to enter and join this Hive community.
Thank you for the collaboration Hive 😁
