Imagining My Life Without Hive

I've come a long way on Hive and I'm glad I have the opportunity to share my experience and my gratitude towards Hive here.

My Pre-hive Life

I'll start with the summary here and then detail it out.

I was not a blogger; I didn't know about crypto; I didn't know about a lot of other things too; I didn't know how to present my thoughts and ideas to the world; I was camera scared.

Having so many bloggers around and reading their blogs, 3 years back, mesmerized me. I used to think how could people be so expressive, how do they know so many things and how do they get so much time to blog.

I was introduced to Hive by my husband. I actually had a lot of time in hand and I used to waste watching television and playing Candy Crush on my phone. So it was he who forced me to get a little more productive and use my time wisely. I can't think of him enough for that now.

He also told me that rather than feeling pity for you to not be able to do things that your peers are great at, I must give it a shot because he had a faith in me, he knew I could do it.

And that is where my Hive (back then Steem) journey started.

My Hive Life

I started 3 years back with Steem when the price of a steem as around $3. It was so damn lucrative, that was a major push for me, I won't lie. I started with Vlogs on Dtube. My vlogs were regular, talking about my learnings, my experiences, my motivational thoughts. I used to receive a Dtube upvote twice or thrice a week and it gave me a huge adrenaline rush I must say.

I was doing great when suddenly Steem was hijacked. It kind of felt that I was on a boat and the boat sank. It felt sad. And very soon emerged Hive and life seemed normal.

I resumed the Hive platform not with vlogs, but blogs now. Given my will to share my recipes and interest in food, my inclination was more towards blogs this time. Initially, I didn't get a good acknowledgment but as time passed, people started interacting with me on my posts and appreciated the content I was sharing which encouraged me a lot.

Right now, I blog about food, my experiences, my trips, Raag, and some motivational content. It feels good to write now and brings in a sense of making impossible things possible/ I never thought I could write.

Now Imaging My Life Without Hive

I open my laptops on the weekends too, thanks to Hive. I don't want to imagine my life without Hive now. It gives me confidence, it motivates me to do things beyond my capabilities. We complain about lack of time but I have realized there is no such thing. You can always spare time for things you like and love.

I honestly don't mind a break from the hive for a day or two, it would actually give me a break from my laptop which is what I long for at times. But a permanent break would bring in a lot of non-productive time in my life which I don't want at all.

I'm relatively new to HIVE. Over 2 months old now. I was a bit confused and overwhelmed at first but I'm finding it quite fun now. Flag to be here.
