I was looking for some Ship Sheet for the OSR and other B/X like games but they never had any of the original sheet nor custom made one. So I started to make my own and share it to others if they want to run a BX Sailing adventure without any worry. Tried to simplified it because the nature of the OSR-BX is that every thing is so customizable and very nitpicky detailed I had to based the requirements on the Old School Essential (OSE) as a basis and expand it a bit so that it has more room for people to have input on special effects and conditions of the ship that they have. So here is the version 1 of the Ship Sheet.
Download is also provided.
There are two version of the Ship Sheet that is provided for the GM and also the Player since people want choices from simple and detail layout on what they put in the ship. I based some of the stuff from the 5e ship sheet but make it open to the other pages so that it has more room to put some the details on how you want to ship to be. either simplified or decked out.
This section of the Ship Sheet is that I wanted to have additional room for the Crew Manifesto so that the Captain, First Mate and the Quartermaster can have keep track on the NPC Crew members on what they are and also their basically their pay. I also put some really big Additional Notes if there are extra notes for them on their objectives.
Upgrades is widened that big since I wanted to have some bigger leeway to the gm on his/her conditions on how many upgrades can the players have on their ship as well as special conditions on the ship. Making this Ship Sheet trying be a One Size Fits all stuff. this also apply to the Weaponry.
Weaponry also is considered if the GM wanted to have a separate theme of play like keeping the medieval period or the sailing age period. So for me I have to keep that in mind and make it open. Hopefully people will like the openness of the Ship Sheet to be used in their game.
This is fantastic work. I don't currently have any ship-related use for these, but with Ironsworn: Sundered Isles shortly to release and my 5e campaign players being able to set their own narrative... I definitely see potential uses for this within the year! Thanks for this!
No worries. I moved my stuff from 5e to OSR stuff since its far more fun for me as a GM. Hopefully you can use some parts of the ship sheet.
I'm sure I will be able to. I'm currently just starting a self-made challenge to play a bunch of the various OSR and Indie ttrpgs I have (mostly solo), and I'm fairly confident this will get some use in Cairn or Knave or Errant when I tackle those games.
Thats nice. Plan to get me 4 against the darkness for solo play and I want to do some spelljammer OSE Solo soon.
4AD is a very fun system - I need to get back to that. I'm in a couple of facebook groups that the creator is in so it's been fun getting to briefly chat with him. I'm currently running both Ironsworn: Starforged and 2d6 Dungeon for my main solo games, but I have a post that I'm currently drafting for a one-shot in a new system since I really need to play through some of the million games I have collected through kickstarters and bundles lol.
Oh, for your Spelljammer OSE - if you don't already have them collected, Internet Archive has (or had?) some of the old Spelljammer pdfs available that you can snag from them. Worth checking for a free and mostly-legal means of snagging those.
