Hello dear painter and artist,
greetings from the beautiful north of Germany.
If you follow me in Warhammer40k Dark angels, you will see that I share my painting process here.
I use the Youtube platform to find inspiration and also instructive videos from professionals and came across this colleague.
He has denounced that it is very difficult to do the shading with the Nuln oil because there are always "black edges".
In this video he showed what you can do with oil paint instead of expensive Nuln Oil (18ml) (here in Germany about 6 Euro).
Motivated, I went to a stationery shop with my wife and bought some oil paint and odourless thinner.
I will use this "trick" to shade my aggressors and inceptors.
I'll report how it turns out and I'll get to grips with the mixing quantity.
The two items in the picture together cost just under 22 euros, of which the colour was on offer for 5 euros.
The bottle contains 200ml, which means that if I had bought the same amount of Nuln Oil it would have cost just under 66 euros, so I have saved just under 40 euros
(apart from the fact that I bought Nuln oil)
I will definitely report back
oh and this colleauge told, this is also a good painter from GW. But the original videos are deleted...from GW
