Hello everyone. @zakludick here with my 3rd update to my the new series where I post about my Warhammer 40k Grand Imperial army, one unit at a time.
A Unit in 40k is either a character, squad or vehicle.
For now, the convention is to pack out the whole Grand Imperial army every time a unit is added... we shall see at what point this becomes unmanageable!
Now for the new unit to add!
Blood Claw Pack Torvin - 140pts
Led by Pack Leader Torvin Hammerfist
This is literally the very first Warhammer 40,000 unit that I ever bought and acquired! Back then I paid a round R300 for them (About $16.10).
They have been in countless battles and they still create shock and awe when they charge out of their usual transportation... but I will leave that part for another post.
This squad is a great example of how this hobby is not expensive. The minis are a LOT more expensive today but the army my son is building today will give him joy for many years to come!
Every Pack (Squad) of Space Wolves has a Pack Marking on their right shoulders. This mark is chosen by the Pack Leader in the unit. A Pack Leader is like saying Sergeant and he is also a Blood Claw.
This is the mark for this unit, a Runic 'R' and a jagged chop with two yellow points going into the red.
Yellow and Red markings show that they are Blood Claws.
On the other shoulder my models have this blue paint. This is to show that they are part of Bjorn Stormwolf's Great Company. Only this guy above has the decal on him. It is of the Great Company's symbol.
Torvin with the Powerfist and the Meltagun and the Flamer in the unit. This flamer is a conversion, a modification. The Saga of this Space Wolf is that his flamer was salvaged from a fallen Dreadnought that he honors by bearing it into battle.
And this guy was the very first model I painted. "The Bloody Handed" his fists are painted red.
And there we go! On to the list it goes!
The List explained
So the below list will be doing the breakdown and subtotals of the Grand Imperial army and I am starting the this formatting now, the moment there are two units because it will be so much easier for me to just add on to an existing format instead of having to re-order everything later.
When you play the game and build your army, you need to have at least 1 Character and make it your Warlord and then choose other units. There are 4 to 5 categories of units in the official army builder. All Imperial armies have 5 sections because of Allies (Titans, Knights and Imperial Agents).
So when there is 4-5 Characters, the subheading for Characters in that army will have a sub-total. This is the combined Points value for all the Characters together.
Same goes for Battleline, Dedicated Transports, etc.
Then the Faction, eg: Space Wolves, will have a Subtotal of how many points together all of those categories together.
And finally, all Armies like Space Wolves, Ultramarines, Dark Angels, etc together will make the total for the Grand Imperial Army.

Space Wolves - 295pts
Space Wolves Characters - 155pts
- Logan Grimnar - 115pts
- Wolf Guard Pack Leader in Terminator Armor - 40pts
Space Wolves Battleline Units - 140pts
- 10x Blood Claws
