Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
The total needed is $575 (R10,000 ZAR).

Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Astra Militarum, Gaunt's Ghosts
10th Edition Index
Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt combines the titles of the Commissar - a feared political officer and that of a Regimental Commander. He leads a unit of elites in the game and these soldiers are part of an army known as the Tanith First and Only.
Usually Imperial Guard Regiments are raised from a home world and sent to the sector command to be used in the Imperium's many wars. Armies like the Cadian 113th or the Valhallan 43rd are the sort of number people see.
As for this army, they are the First and Only, there will be no others... I don't know why, I don't want to spoil the books for me! Hahaha!
This unit is 110pts to field and costs $79 to purchase. I feel that it will likely be something most people want in their collections if they have read those books!

Save 5+/5++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain) and 4+/5++ for Gaunt.

Each Squad member here has their own set of weapons. They are as follows:
Ibram Gaunt: Gaunt's Chainsword, Bolt Pistol
Colm Corbec: Corbec's hot-shot lascarbine, straight silver knife
Elim Rawne: Rawne's lascarbine, straight silver knife
Hlaine Larkin: Larkin's Long-las, straight silver knife
'Try Again' Bragg: Bragg's Autocannon, straight silver knife
Oan Mkoll: Mkoll's straight silve knife, lascarbine
Ranged Weapons
Bolt Pistol
12" Range, 1 Shots, Hitting on 2+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while this model is in Engagement Range of an enemy)
Bragg's Autocannon
48" Range, 4 Shots, Hitting on 5+, S9, AP-1 and 3 Damage each.
Heavy (Gain +1 to Hit if this unit remains stationary)
Corbec's hot-shot lascarbine
24" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S3, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Assault (This unit can Advance and shoot)
Larkin's Longlas
36" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S5, AP-2 and 4 Damage each.
Heavy (Gain +1 to Hit if this unit remains stationary)

Devastating Wounds (Wound rolls of 6 to wound cause Mortal Wounds)
Precision (Wounds caused by this weapon can be allocated to a Character in the unit instead of the Bodyguard)

3 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S3, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Fights First - This unit fights first unless they encounter a defender with Fights First
Lone Operative - They may not be targeted by shooting attacks unless the shooter is within 12"
Stealth - When shot at the enemy is at a -1 to Hit
Infiltrators - They may be set up in No-Man's Land up to within 9" of the enemy Deployment Zone.
Voice of Command - Gaunt can issue up to 2 orders a turn to Regiment units or to Gaunt's Ghosts
Tanith Camo-Cloaks
This unit always has Benefit of Cover.
Covert Stealth Team
In the opponent's turn, if this unit is not within Engagement Range of enemy models then you can remove this unit from the board and in your following Reinforcements step, deploy them anywhere on the board more than 9" away from enemy models!
Thoughts
I am so amped about this unit! I want this squad! And I now want to read the novels for this series.
Seriously good unit capable of putting out decent shooting and close combat. They are super slippery and debuff's enemy's attempts to shoot at them. It is very cool. I suppose that for Astra Militarum, they are sort of pricey at 110pts but you can build a lot of value and bodies around them!
That makes 35 Astra Militarum Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 39.32% Completed. The total Completed is 21.42% Complete! Can I review them all?!
