Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
The total remaining is $530 (R10,000 ZAR).

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Aeldari, Howling Banshees
10th Edition Index
There are a collection of Warrior Paths that Aeldari can follow, each is called a Warrior Temple. Each of the Aspects specializes in a certain function in the theatre of war. Often they are one of the best units in a very specialist war.
The Howling Banshees are close combat specialists that have high armor piercing melee weapons at an anti-infantry level.
They have Banshee Masks which makes them Fight First.
They are led by an Exarch which has the only weapon options.
It is 70pts for a unit of 5 and 140pts for a unit of 10.
A Box set has 5 models and costs $62.50.

Save 4+/5++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 1 (2 for the Exarch)

Weapons
The unit are all armed with Banshee Blades and Shuriken Pistols.
The Exarch can exchange both for a pair of Mirrorswords (A single profile) or keep the Pistol and exchange just the Banshee Blade for an Executioner or a Triskele.
Ranged Weapons
Shuriken Pistol
12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in combat)
Assault (This weapon can be fired after a unit Advances)
Triskele
12" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.
Assault (This weapon can be fired after a unit Advances)
Melee Weapons
Banshee Blade
3 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-3 and 1 Damage each.
Executioner
4 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP-2 and 2 Damage each.
Mirrorswords
6 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-3 and 1 Damage each.
Triskele
5 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S3, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Fights First (Self explanatory. They Fight First even if you charge them.)
Acrobatic
This unit can Charge in a turn they Advanced or Fell Back.
Thoughts
They are good at killing Infantry and Heavy Infantry. They cannot hope to fight a Walker or a Monster and would struggle to do anything to a Vehicle except hold it in Engagement. They do not even have the Grenades strat available to them!
As for the Exarch weapon it is up to the user.
It would be silly for the Exarch to keep the base weapons.
Mirrorswords is just double attacks at the same stats as the Banshee Blade.
The Executioner would be my choice for some Damage 2 in the unit. Like a Powerfist...
And then the Triskele... become sort of meh in combat and have a sort of OKish ranged weapon. It looks cool but it is not practical.
That makes 41 Aeldari Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 56.94% Completed. The total Completed is 22.34% Complete! Can I review them all?!
