My Reviews are behind - I might be posting a lot in quick succession.
Hey everyone. If you check my blog recently, then you will see that I spent quite some time in the hospital and this ended up with an eventual surgery. The surgery went well and I am on my way to full recovery.
But I have fallen behind on my 40k Reviews. I know I won't earn much from posting many posts in one day, but I would really just like to get all the reviews done for these factions before I am too late and the Indexes are replaced by the Codex entries.
I want to be able to analyze what is lost and what is gained.
I am back at home from the hospital and I am basically laying on my back. I can at least sit/lay and blog and catch up where I can.
Even though I am posting a lot and the main focus is to post, not earn, I will not switch earnings off. This is part of a Hobby Fund and Fund Raiser so those that want to upvote me are welcome to!
Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
The total remaining is $481.5!

Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Astra Militarum, Ministorum Priest

In the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium, humanity is beset by foes that make them question their faith. A lot of battles are fought across holy sites, holy cities or even holy worlds.
Thus, it is in the interest of the Adeptus Ministorum and the Ecclesiarchy to to send Preachers, Priests and Demagogues to the front lines to bolster the faith of the troops.
So adamant and frenzied is the faith of these priests in the God-Emperor, that they take this duty to the frontlines. They preach that the God-Emperor protects and they believe it and shall die in the Emperor's wars as that is what they teach.
These are secondary characters added to squads to buff them. Generally a good fit for a unit you expect to end up in close combat!
They are a mere 35pts and cost $35. lol

Armed with a Holy Pistol and Power Weapon.
The Power Weapon can be exchanged for a Preacher Shotgun and Chainsword or an autogun and Chainsword.
Ranged Weapons
Holy Pistol
12" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in close combat)
Autogun
24" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S3, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 1 (This weapon gets 1 additional shot when firing at half range of 12")
Preacher Shotgun
12" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Assault (This weapon can be fired after then unit has Advanced)
Melee Weapons
Chainsword
4 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S3, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Power Weapon
3 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
War Hymns
While leading a unit, melee weapons in this unit have Sustained Hits 1 ability (Meaning 6's to Hit cause additional hits)
Holy Piety
Unless this model is Battle-shocked, this model can re-roll its Hit rolls in Melee.
Thoughts
Bayonets and Knives and such only do so much damage, but when you give them Sustained Hits then a LOT more hits come through and that is usually good enough to do a bunch more damage.
I like the Holy Pistol and Power Weapon vibe better.
The Priest can join nearly any infantry unit, but why not attach him to a unit of Catachan Jungle Fighters who excel in Close Combat? Stack the bonuses!
That makes 51 Astra Militarum Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 83.6% Completed. The total Completed is 26.20% Complete! Can I review them all?!
