My Reviews are behind - I might be posting a lot in quick succession.
Hey everyone. If you check my blog recently, then you will see that I spent quite some time in the hospital and this ended up with an eventual surgery. The surgery went well and I am on my way to full recovery.
But I have fallen behind on my 40k Reviews. I know I won't earn much from posting many posts in one day, but I would really just like to get all the reviews done for these factions before I am too late and the Indexes are replaced by the Codex entries.
I want to be able to analyze what is lost and what is gained.
I am back at home from the hospital and I am basically laying on my back. I can at least sit/lay and blog and catch up where I can.
Even though I am posting a lot and the main focus is to post, not earn, I will not switch earnings off. This is part of a Hobby Fund and Fund Raiser so those that want to upvote me are welcome to!
Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
The total remaining is $481.5!

Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Astra Militarum, Shadowsword

Here is another Baneblade variant! This one is armed with a Volcano Cannon, is brilliant at taking out large targets from long distances and is... really one of my favourite variants of Baneblade to date!
Let's check his stats.
Stats
Movement 9"
Toughness 13
Save 2+ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 24
Ld 7+
OC 8
Weapons
The main gun being the Volcano Cannon, this tank comes with the usual Baneblade weapons:
2x Twin Heavy Bolters
2x Twin Heavy Flamers
2x Lascannons
The 2x Twin Heavy Flamers can be exchanged for 2x Twin Heavy Bolters.
It can then be equipped with an additional 2x Lascannons and either 2x Heavy Bolters or 2x Heavy Flamers.
Personally, if this vehicle has such long range, I like to go all Heavy Bolters and Lascannons.
Ranged Weapons
Volcano Cannon
96" Range, D3+1 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S24, AP-5 and 12 Damage each.
Heavy (When this model remains stationery, gain +1 to Hit)
Blast (For every 5 models in the target unit, gain +1 attack - rounding down)
Lascannon
48" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S12, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.
Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter
36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S5, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Sustained Hits 1 (Rolls of 6 to Hit give 1 additional hit)
Twin-linked (You can re-roll to to Wound Rolls with this weapon)
Twin-Linked Heavy Flamer
12" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on Auto, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (This weapon hits automatically, just roll for the number of attacks)
Ignores Cover (Enemies cannot have Benefit of Cover against this attack)
Twin-linked (You can re-roll to to Wound Rolls with this weapon)
Melee Weapons
Armoured Tracks
6 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S8, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Deadly Demise D6+2 (When this vehicle is destroyed, roll a dice, on a 1, it explodes and deals D6+2 Mortal Wounds to every unit within 6")
Titan-Killer
When this model attacks a Monster or Vehicle unit with its Volcano Cannon, that weapon gains the Devastating Wounds ability (Meansing on 6 it ignores Armor and Invulnerable saves!)
Thoughts
D3+1 shots basically means minimum 2 and max 4 against the large targets that this tank is meant to fire on. The Blast Keyword on the gun means nothing but the Heavy on a 4+ to hit makes it a 3+ to hit which is great.
Baneblades and their variants are not Squadron units so a Tank Commander cannot buff them for extra Ballistic Skill...
However... you could use Scout Sentinels to give the Shadowsword a re-roll to 1's making it nearly a 2+ to Hit.
When rolling that 6 on the Wound roll will tear 12 wounds off those big targets which is incredible!
That makes 55 Astra Militarum Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 90.16% Completed. The total Completed is 26.63% Complete! Can I review them all?!
