Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
A New Season of Reviews - A Challenge accepted!
The nefarious trio of World Eaters, Death Guard and Thousand Sons are set to get their new Codexes next. Actually, the great FOUR are each getting their favourite Legion's new Codexes but Emperor's Children did not have an actual Index before.
Anyway. I was speaking to my friend @nicolaasmuller about how my Review posts might not make a lot of money for me, but that cumulatively and on average some of them do good and overall there is an average that at least means that there is good movement of income into the Hobby Fund and that it would grow from there.
We were throwing around some numbers and looking at the average of my last 10 Review Posts, 20 Review posts and 30 Review Posts and we could come up with a range of how much I should theoretically be making across a large sample size of completing the remainder of the reviews for the nefarious trio mentioned above.
So Nicolaas says to me something along the lines of: That would be pretty cool if you could do it in like, a month. Maybe do like 2 a day.
So I explained it would be a little bit more than that but sure... it would be cool... is that a challenge? And yeah... here I am... Challenge accepted. 😎
It is now Day 23 of the Challenge.
Totals so far: 37/70 Datasheets done, 3/3 Army Rules done, 0/6 Detachment Rules done. Total 40/79.
Time elapsed: 76.66%
Progress completed: 50.63%
Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $288 to pay off!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review.
The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
646 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #291, I am 355 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)
World Eaters, World Eaters Lord on Juggernaut
10th Edition Index
A Lord on Juggernaut is the non-Epic Hero version of Lord Invocatus or Lord Avocatus as we like to call him.
That means that you can have up to three of these Lords in your army AND that Avocado!
However, the thing that makes very little sense to me... is that this Mounted character can only lead Khorne Berzerkers or Eightbound... where is the unit of Cavalry that they can lead?
I am 99% sure that World Eaters players and fans have been saying something about that... perhaps there will be such a unit in the new World Eaters 10th Edition Codex.
This model is 100pts and costs $65.
Let's check its stats!
Stats
Movement 10"
Toughness 6
Save 2+/4++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 7
Ld 6+
OC 2
Weapons
Ranged Weapons
Plasma pistol — standard firing option
12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S7, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in combat)
Plasma pistol — supercharge firing option
12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S8, AP-3 and 2 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in combat)
Hazardous (Roll a dice after firing this weapon - on a 1 the user takes 3 Mortal Wounds)
Melee Weapons
Exalted chainblade
7 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S6, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Juggernaut’s bladed horn
4 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S6, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Extra Attacks (These attacks can be made in addition to the model's other melee attacks.
Lance (On the Charge this weapon gets +1 to Wound)
Abilities
Aggressive Advance
While leading a unit, this model's unit can re-roll any of the following: Advance Rolls, Charge rolls, Blood Surge Rolls (when leading Berzerkers)
Bloody Stampede
When making a charge move, select one enemy unit it made contact with and roll a dice. On a 2-3 that unit suffers 1 Mortal Wound, on a 4-5 that unit suffers D3 Mortal Wounds, on a 6 that unit suffers D3+3 Mortal Wounds.
Thoughts
A Juggernaut moves 10" a turn, Berzerkers move 6" and Eightbound move 8". So there is a bit of a waste of a stat there. I mean, every unit is costed in points based on their stats and abilities.
But besides that, he still gives those units a significant speed boost.
The Khorne army often get an Advance and Charge AND a +2" move. If you have Lord Invocatus in the army you give those units Scout (A pre-game move) and with all these additional sources of movement in a combat army makes them... ridiculous!
I will need to play against this to see what I would do but I think that basically I would adopt a "brace to accept a charge" stance... which in a veteran's hands will mean they will use this opportunity to seize control of the board.
Interesting...
That makes 16 World Eaters Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 69.56% Completed. The total Completed is 31.76% Complete! Can I review them all?!

@zakludick
just throw a unit of berserkers on juggernauts in the new codex and be extremely afraid😅
I think the odds are really high of that!
Back when Epic first came out, one of the first release box sets included loads of Khorne juggernaut cavalry. I guess whatever rule allowed them was never ported across to full-size army lists. I converted mine and painted them as Knights of Chaos for a 5mm non-Warhammer army.

Interesting! I did not know that!
