A New Season of Reviews - A Challenge accepted!
The nefarious trio of World Eaters, Death Guard and Thousand Sons are set to get their new Codexes next. Actually, the great FOUR are each getting their favourite Legion's new Codexes but Emperor's Children did not have an actual Index before.
Anyway. I was speaking to my friend @nicolaasmuller about how my Review posts might not make a lot of money for me, but that cumulatively and on average some of them do good and overall there is an average that at least means that there is good movement of income into the Hobby Fund and that it would grow from there.
We were throwing around some numbers and looking at the average of my last 10 Review Posts, 20 Review posts and 30 Review Posts and we could come up with a range of how much I should theoretically be making across a large sample size of completing the remainder of the reviews for the nefarious trio mentioned above.
So Nicolaas says to me something along the lines of: That would be pretty cool if you could do it in like, a month. Maybe do like 2 a day.
So I explained it would be a little bit more than that but sure... it would be cool... is that a challenge? And yeah... here I am... Challenge accepted. 😎
It is now Day 25 of the Challenge.
Totals so far: 42/70 Datasheets done, 3/3 Army Rules done, 0/6 Detachment Rules done. Total 45/79.

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $288 to pay off!

Back to the review.
The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
648 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #296, I am 352 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)
Thousand Sons, Thousand Sons Land Raider
10th Edition Index
I do not recall seeing anyone currently practically using a Thousand Sons Land Raider. People are using faster units and when they need to transport a squad of Rubric Marines, they use Rhinos.
I suppose that this transport could deliver a unit of Scarab Terminators into battle... but again, not really their strong suit... better to stay at home and midfield and read books!
It is 240pts to field this model. It costs $92

Standard weapons include: 2x Soulshatter Lascannons, Twin Inferno Heavy Bolter, Armoured Tracks.

This model can be equipped with 1x Havoc Launcher.
Ranged Weapons
Soulshatter Lascannon
48" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S12, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.
Twin Inferno Heavy Bolter
36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP-2 and 2 Damage each.
Sustained Hits 1 (Rolls of 6 to Hit cause additional Hits)
Twin-linked (This weapon can re-roll the to-wounds Dice)
Havoc Launcher
48" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Blast (For Every 5 models in the target unit, rounding down, add another attack)
Inferno Combi-weapon
24" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 1 (At half range of 12", gain 1 additional attack)
Devastating Wounds (On a Critical Wound of a 6, causes Mortal Wounds)
Anti-Infantry 4+ (Though S4, this weapon Critically Wounds all Infantry on a 4+)
Inferno Combi-bolter
24" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 2 (At half range of 12", gain 2 additional attacks)
Melee Weapons
Armoured Tracks
6 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S8, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Transport - 12 This model can transport 12 Infantry models. It cannont Transport Cultists or Tzaangors. Terminator models take up 2 spaces.
Assault Ramp
Each time a unit disembarks from this transport after it has made a Normal move, that unit can still declare a charge move this turn.
Thoughts
So Assault ramps allow the Raider to move 10", models disembark within 3" and charge 2D6". However, not many units in the Thousand Sons want to be in melee. Some units ca handle it, but you have to equate all factors.
Other than that. I play with a Land Raider so I love its firepower and toughness as much as I love its ability to deliver combat troops. In my case, I have access to combat troops that do not cost me an arm and a leg so it makes sense for me.
That makes 18 Thousand Sons Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 64.28% Completed. The total Completed is 32.31% Complete! Can I review them all?!
