Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends
The total needed is $580 (R10,000 ZAR).
Every bit counts!
The current progress is 10.05%!
Back to the review.
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
520 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #189, I am 331 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)
January 2025 we are expecting Astra Militarum and Aeldari codexes as explained Here, so time to focus on THOSE Datasheets!
Astra Militarum, Leman Russ Battle Tank
10th Edition Index
The Leman Russ is the staple, the main battle tank in the whole Imperium of man. No enemy has come in terrestrial contact with the Astra Militarum and Planetary Defence Forces and not see these tanks on the battlefield.
Named after the Space Wolves Primarch Leman Russ as a sign of respect.
This tank also has a large variety of variants. Each of them have their own datacards and main guns.
In this post we will focus on the original type toting the trusty Battle Cannon!
They are 170pts to field and cost $70 to buy.
Let's see their stats!

Armoured Spearhead
When shooting, this unit re-rolls 1s to Hit, if the target is within range of an objective you do not control, Re-roll the to Hit roll instead.
Thoughts
Straight up powerhouse and good at clearing off the enemy from objectives you want to deny them.
I would run it Battle Cannon, Hunter Killer, 2x Plasma Cannons, Lascannon and Heavy Stubber.
Thus it would be versatile and able to handle Medium to Heavy Infantry and well as Light to Medium Vehicles.
For Heavy tanks and Hordes, the Astra Militarum have other tools and even other Leman Russ variants to use for those niche tagers.
That makes 27 Aeldari Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 29.21% Completed. The total Completed is 18.24% Complete! Can I review them all?!
Thank you for reading!

I found it crazy that the Leman Russ has a +2 armor save and a Space Marine Predator has a +3 armor save😵😵💫🥺
According to Imperial Armor the Predator is a 44 tonne tank.
The Leman Russ is a 60 tonne tank.
So if we compare that in real life. 16 tonnes makes that difference.
Also the Toughness!
I'm not into Warhammer, but I can appreciate the models that are made for it.
Indeed! A lot of great models
