Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
419 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #108 and #109 a two for one!, I am 310 reviews behind!
Picking them randomly, let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:
Thousand Sons, Ahriman
10th Edition Index
Ahriman is the most power (mortal) sorcerer of the Thousand Sons Chaos Space Marine Legion. He is a devotee of Tzeetch and his major drive it collect all eldritch knowledge... sort of like a 40k Orochimaru without trying to take over the bodies of talented youngsters and looking like Michael Jackson.
As far as I understand, he and his Primarch do not have a great relationship. But I gues like father, like son in this case.
Ahriman can either be fielded with or without a Disc of Tzeetch. It would be silly to review them separately since the stats difference is small and all the other rules are the same.
Ahriman costs 130pts on foot and 140pts on the Disc... I really do not see why you would field him without the Disc. It allows him to Fly, it gives him +1 Wound and a 10" Movement should he be on on his own. The Disc also does not prevent him from joining Rubric Marines or embarking on transports.
You buy one box at $45 that can field both versions. Magnetize it!
Let's look at those stats!
Stats
Movement 6" (10" on Disc)
Toughness 4
Save 3+/4++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 5 (6 on Disc)
Ld 7+
OC 2
Weapons
Ranged:
Inferno bolt pistol
Range 12", 1 Attack, Hitting on 2+, S4 Ap -1, 1 Damage
Pistol (Can shoot with this weapon while in engagement range of enemy models, close combat)
Psychic Stalk
Range 18", 1 Attack, Hitting on 2+, S6 Ap -1, D6 Damage
Psychic (This attack has the Psychic Keyword)
Precision (meaning that wounds can be allocated to the leaders)
Melee:
Black Staff of Ahriman
5 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S7 Ap -1, 3 Damage each
Psychic (This attack has the Psychic Keyword)
Abilities
Cabal of Sorcerers 3 (This interacts with the Thousand Sons Army rule that I have not yet reviewed)
Arch-Sorcerer of Tzeentch
Once per Battle, Ahriman can use one Ritual for 0 Cabal Points. All other rules apply. Again... I will get to Reviewing the army rule for this ability. Right now it would be a lot to include for just Ahriman, there re many units in their army that can make use of it.
Rubric Lord
While leading a unit, models in that unit add 1 to their Wound rolls.
Thoughts
Always dangerous, all the time. It is the Cabal Points of 3 that probably makes him more dangerous. Rubric Marines with +1 to Wound is good too, especially when the squad uses flamers.
Psychic Stalk is also a threat since it can target a Character and remove him from 18" away!
That makes 4 Thousand Sons Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 14.28% Completed! The total Completed is 11.22% Complete! Can I review them all?!
Thank you for reading!

Indeed... I don't like Thousand Sons... they are the mortal enemy of the Space Wolves.
Ahriman's Psychic Stalk sounds powerful man. I like the flexibility with the Disc option.
That Stalk is going to snipe a character out of a unit once in a while... especially the weaker characters.
Indeed especially the weaker ones
