On this occasion I want to share with you a very special project that I have been creating: a beautiful wooden carved necklace with the symbol of an owl. This enigmatic nocturnal bird has been considered since ancient times as a symbol of wisdom, intuition and mystery. In many cultures, it is believed that the owl has the ability to see beyond the obvious, to unravel hidden secrets and to guide us in the darkness. This necklace is much more than a simple piece of jewelry, it is a unique piece that represents the connection with our own inner wisdom and with the magic that surrounds us. I invite you to immerse yourself with me in the fascinating process of creating this necklace. I'll show you step by step how I transformed a piece of wood into this beautiful piece, from wood selection to final carving and polishing. Don't miss it!
¡Hola a todos mis queridos amigos! Espero que se encuentren de maravilla y estén disfrutando de esta hermoso fin de semana. En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes un proyecto muy especial que he estado creando: un hermoso collar tallado en madera con el símbolo de una lechuza. Esta enigmática ave nocturna, ha sido considerada desde tiempos ancestrales como un símbolo de sabiduría, intuición y misterio. En muchas culturas, se cree que la lechuza tiene la capacidad de ver más allá de lo evidente, de desentrañar los secretos ocultos y de guiarnos en la oscuridad. Este collar es mucho más que una simple joya, es una pieza única que representa la conexión con nuestra propia sabiduría interior y con la magia que nos rodea. To begin, I cut a piece of wood 4 centimeters long by 3 centimeters wide, before starting to draw I cleaned it with sandpaper since it was a little deteriorated, this wood was obtained from recycling. Once it was very clean with a pencil I drew the silhouette of the owl, to make the larger cuts and give it the first shape I used a school cutter.
Para comenzar, corté un trozo de madera de 4 centímetros de largo por 3 centímetros de ancho, antes de comenzar a dibujar le hice limpieza con lijas ya que se encontraba un poco deteriorada, esta madera fue obtenida desde el reciclaje. Una vez estuviera bien limpia con un lápiz dibujé la silueta de la lechuza, para hacer los cortes más grandes y darle la primera forma utilicé un cúter escolar.

The first step was to give it the shape of the owl, with the cutter I cut the edges and formed the piece until it looked like a stamp, I started from the top in a circular shape until I turned the entire piece around. This step was very simple because it was just cutting the wood following the shape of the silhouette.
El primer paso fue darle la forma de la lechuza, con el cúter fui cortando los bordes y formando la pieza hasta que quedara como un sello, comencé desde la parte superior en forma circular hasta dar la vuelta a toda la pieza. Este paso fue muy sencillo porque fue solo cortar la madera siguiendo la forma de la silueta.

Little by little I turned the entire figure around until the silhouette was well cut and could be seen with simple eyesight. All this was possible due to the wider blade of the cutter, since being wider makes it easier to cut large pieces of wood.
Poco a poco di la vuelta a toda la figura hasta que pudiera quedar la silueta bien cortada y se pudiera notar a simple viste. Todo esto fue posible por la navaza más ancha del cúter ya que al ser más ancha se vuelve más fácil cortar grandes trozos de madera.

Once I finished the part of shaping the silhouette I started with the part of the small details, these are always the most difficult but at the same time the best. I started with the head, where I already use the gouges, and to make the eyes I use a blade with a curved tip that allows the wood to be extracted, leaving a very useful circular space for this step.
Una vez terminado la parte de dar forma a la silueta comencé con la parte de los pequeños detalles, estos siempre son los más difíciles pero a su vez los mejores. Comencé por la cabeza, en donde ya utilizo las gubias, y para hacer los ojos utilizo una cuchilla con la punta curva que permite extraer la madera dejando un espacio circular muy útil para este paso.

In the next step I began to carve the feathers of his wings into the wood, without a doubt the most difficult and frustrating step of all. I think that for cuts of this type you need other types of tools, although I used small blades, they were still large. But little by little I was able to complete the ones I had drawn previously.
En el siguiente paso comencé a tallar en la amdera las plumas de sus alas, sin duda el paso más difícil y frustrante de todos. Creo que para cortes de este tipo se necesita otra clase de herramientas, aunque utilicé cuchillas pequeñas, de igual forma quedaban grandes. Pero poco a poco pude completar las que había dibujado anteriormente.

To finish, as is always customary, I apply a varnish bath to protect the wood and also give it shine. I also painted the owl's eyes separately to finish this piece.
Para finalizar, como es costumbre siempre, le aplico un baño de barniz para proteger la madera y también darle brillo. También de forma aparte pinté los ojos de la lechuza y así finalizar esta pieza.
