Greetings friends. The other day I was thinking about my Gata Tchalla, a little black cat that I left in Venezuela with my family.
Well, thinking about her, imagine how nice it would be to make a little keychain to remember her every time I see her.

Saludos amigos. El otro día estuve pensando en mi Gata Tchalla, una gatita negra que dejé en Venezuela con mi familia.
Pues bien, pensando en ella imagínate que sería lindo hacer un pequeño llavero para recordarla cada vez que la vea.
In this post I will show you how I made it.
The materials I used for this keychain were: flexible dough, wire and paints.
I started by making a small sphere of flexible dough, which I flattened like a tortilla. It doesn't have to be a perfect sphere, it can be an oval or a shape that resembles a circle, since it is the face of a kitten that I will be making after all.

Los materiales que utilicé para este llavero fueron: masa flexible, alambre y pinturas.
Comencé haciendo una pequeña esfera de masa flexible, la cuál aplaste cuál tortilla. No es necesario que quede una esfera perfecta, bien puede servir un óvalo o una forma que se asemeje a un círculo, pues es la cara de un gatito lo que haré después de todo.
For the nose and eyes I also used flexible dough.
In this case, being a drawing type thing, I didn't make the nose as something very complex, it's just a small point where it should go in case this was a drawing.
The eyes I made them in the same way, two circles of flexible dough much bigger than the nose (one eye bigger than the other) and with a more bitter shape upwards.
Why the eyes have different sizes? Because it's like a 3D drawing made by a child, that's how I imagined this keychain.
Para la nariz y los ojos usé también masa flexible.
En este caso, al ser algo tipo dibujo, la nariz no la hice como algo muy complejo, solo es un pequeño punto en donde debería ir en el caso de que esto fuese un dibujo.
Los ojos los hice de la misma manera, dos círculos de masa flexible mucho más grandes que la nariz (un ojo más grande que otro) y con una forma más amargada hacia arriba.
¿Por qué los ojos tienen diferentes tamaños? Pues porque es como un dibujo 3D hecho por un niño, así fue como imaginé este llavero.
Well, I also imagined the ears in a simple way.
So, to make them I simply cut two triangles of flexible dough and sunk them a little in the middle, leaving the edges a little thicker, as you can see in the image below:
Pues bien las orejas también las imaginé de una forma.a sencilla.
Por lo tanto, para hacerlas simplemente corté dos triángulos de masa flexible y los hundí un poco en el medio, dejando los bordes un poco mas gruesos, tal cómo pueden ver en la imagen de abajo:
I remind you that the flexible dough is a water-based material and although it takes a while to dry completely, the outside does dry quickly and then it is difficult to glue pieces on top if it dries too much.
So, while it was still a little wet, but starting to dry, I placed the nose and eyes, as well as the ears.
Les recuerdo que la masa flexible es un material a base de agua y aunque tarda en secarse por completo, la parte exterior sí se seca rápido y después es difícil pegar piezas encima si se seca demasiado.
Por eso, mientras aún estaba algo húmedo, pero comenzando a secarse, coloqué la nariz y los ojos, al igual que las orejas.
Being a kitten I thought it would be a good idea to make the whiskers with the same flexible handle, so I made a thin strip of the material, twisting it gently on the cutting board until I got thin lines of material as you can see in the image below.
I cut these thin strips to the size I wanted and glued them on the nose using a little water to moisten the mixture a little.
Al ser un gatito pensé que sería buena idea hacerle los bigotes con la misma .asa flexible, así que hice una delgada tira del material, haciéndolo girar suavemente en la tabla de corte hasta lograr unas finas líneas de material como ven ena imagen de abajo.
Estás delgadas tiras las corté del tamaño que quería y las pegue en la nariz usando un poco de agua para humedecer un poco la mezcla.
The last thing I did was to take a small ring that has some wire left over to hang something else.
Well, this ring is used to bend it a little at the tip and serve as an anchor inside the piece so that it stays firm and does not come out, once all the material is dry.
Ya lo último que hice, fue tomar una pequeña argolla que tiene alambre de sobra para colgar alguna otra cosa.
Pues bien, esta argolla me sirve para doblarla un poco en la punta ay que sirva de ancla en el interior de la pieza para que se mantenga firme y no salga, una vez que esté seco todo el material.
Finally the painting process began. First I put the base which is black.
As I said at the beginning of the post, my cat is black, so it was obvious that this would be the base color. It should be noted that I used three coats of black paint so that it would set well on the material.
Finalmente comenzó el proceso de pintado. Primero le coloqué la base que es el negro.
Cómo dije al comienzo del post, mi gata es negra, así que era evidente que este sería el color base. Cabe destacar que usé tres capas de pintura negra para que se fijará bien en el material.
Then I used the dry painting technique to give a metallic touch to the charm, using the silver color. On the eyes, nose and mustache, which are the embossed pieces, I used a lot of silver paint to make them stand out from the metallic black background color.
Luego usé la técnica de pintado en seco para darle un toque metalizado al dije, usando el color plateado. En los ojos, nariz y bigote, que son las piezas en relieve, usé bastante pintura plateada para que destacará por encima del color negro metalizado de fondo.
This way the keychain was finished. Below you can see a series of pictures of the final result:
