Greetings friends. Lately I haven't had much time to do crafts, something that requires not only time but also patience and creativity.
However, I recently took the time to make a small keychain inspired by some pets I have at home, such as my chickens. It is a very pretty keychain that, because of its color, matches with anything.

Saludos amigos. Últimamente no he tenido demasiado tiempo para hacer manualidades, algo que requiere no solo tiempo sino paciencia y creatividad.
Sin embargo, hace poco me tomé el tiempo de hacer un pequeño llavero inspirado en unas mascotas que tengo en casa, como lo son mis gallinas. Es un llavero muy bonito que, por el color que tiene, combina con cualquier cosa.
Step by step
To make this keychain I used the material I usually use for this kind of crafts, the flexible dough.
I also used wire with a ring and paints, because I like to paint the dough after it has dried, not before.
Paso a paso
Para hacer este llavero utilicé el material que suelo usar para este tipo de manualidades, la masa flexible.
Además usé también alambre con argolla y pinturas, pues me gusta pintar la masa después de que ha secado, no antes.
Like almost all these types of pieces, you start with a basic shape, in this case a flattened circle.
As the flexible dough is a little dry at the beginning, it is advisable to knead it a little with hand or body cream.
Como casi todos estos tipos de piezas, se comienza con una forma básica, en este caso un círculo aplastado.
Como la masa flexible en un comienzo está un poco seca, es recomendable amasarla un poco con crema para manos o para el cuerpo.
For the body of this hen I thought of the basic shape of the old Twitter logo. That little bird is a basic shape of a bird, in this case for a hen it works but there are elements that differentiate it and will make it recognizable as a hen and not as any bird.
For now this is the basic form that is made:
Para el cuerpo de esta gallina pensé en la forma básica del logo del antiguo Twitter. Ese pajarito es una forma básica de un ave, en este caso para una gallina sirve pero hay elementos que lo diferencian y lo harán reconocible como una gallina y no como un pájaro cualquiera.

Another element of this keychain is the wing. Although I could have made it flat, I wanted to make a little relief with this wing, much smaller than the piece I showed you before, but which occupies almost the entire size of the bird's body.
Otro elemento de este llavero es el ala. Aunque bien pude hacerlo plano, le quise hacer un poco de relieve con esta ala, mucho más pequeña que la pieza que les mostré antes, pero que ocupa casi todo el tamaño del cuerpo del ave.
In the image below you can see the size that the wing occupies in the hen's body. As I said it is smaller than the body, but it occupies a large area.
All this should be done while the flexible dough is still wet. In this process it is not necessary to use glue, since with a little water added between the wing and the shape of the bird, it will be enough to join the two pieces together, because the water with the flexible mass forms a glue automatically.
En la imagen de abajo pueden ver el tamaño que ocupa el ala en el cuerpo de la gallina. Cómo dije es más pequeño que el cuerpo, pero ocupa una gran área.
Todo esto se debe hacer mientras la masa flexible está aún húmeda. En este proceso no es necesario usar pegamento, ya que con un poco de agua que se agregue entre el ala y la forma del pájaro, será suficiente para que las dos piezas queden unidas, pues el agua con la masa flexible forma un pegamento automáticamente.
If you look at the image above, this little hen looks a lot like the bird in the Twitter logo, which is basically a basic form of a bird. Well, something that can differentiate it to make it look like a hen is the crest and the beak.
Si se fijan en la imagen de arriba está gallinita se parece mucho al ave del logo de Twitter, que básicamente sería una forma básica de pájaro. Pues bien algo que lo puede diferenciar para hacerlo parecer una gallina es la cresta y el pico.
I glued both elements in place, again using a little water to make the two pieces stick together as the flexible dough dries.
As you can see in the image below, you can already see the shape of a chicken, instead of the basic shape of a bird.
Ambos elementos los pegué en su lugar, usando nuevamente un poco de agua para que se peguen las dos piezas a medida que se seca la masa flexible.
Como pueden ver en la imagen de abajo, ya se ve la forma de una gallina, en lugar de la forma básica de un pájaro.
However, it is not a keychain, so it becomes necessary to place the wire that I mentioned at the beginning, which has a ring that will serve to hang it as a keychain.
Sin embargo, no es un llavero, así que se vuelve necesario colocarle el alambre que les mencioné al comienzo, el cual tiene una argolla que servirá para colgarlo cuál llavero.
Already in the painting process I thought about painting it as a normal hen, but in the end I decided to take into account a very common phrase that says: “sometimes, less is more”. This means that sometimes simpler things are better, or in this case it applies like that.
That's why I decided to paint it black as a base color and then apply some gold, using the dry brush technique.
Only a few elements I painted with the normal painting technique and that was the hen's eye, the crest, the beak and a few brush strokes on the wing and tail.
Ya en el proceso de pintado pensé en pintarlo como una gallina normal, pero al final me decidí por tener en cuenta una frase muy común que reza: "a veces, menos es más". Esto quiere decir que a veces las cosas más sencillas son mejores, o en este caso se aplica así.
Por eso decidí pintarlo de color negro como base y luego aplicar un poco de dorado, usando la técnica del pincel seco.
Solo unos cuantos elementos los pinté con la técnica normal de pintado y fue el ojito de la gallina, la cresta, el pico y unas cuantas pinceladas en el ala y la cola.
