Today I bring you a project that was a new challenge for me, as it was my first work of this kind. Generally I always prefer textile confections and the creation of some hair accessories such as plush and ribbons, than any other type of sewing such as kitchen ornaments, bags and so on. But I had two clients, who are more daring than me, and who trusted me completely to do the kind of work they needed, and as they are already like friends, I decided to venture out and try other styles.
They came with great enthusiasm with two satin fabrics, to make two or three anti-frizz caps, but instead of being with an elastic as we commonly know, it was with a stretch fabric that would fit the shape of the head.
En el dia de hoy os traigo un proyecto que para mi fue un nuevo reto, pues ha sido mi primer trabajo de este tipo. Por lo general siempre me decanto mas por las confecciones textiles y la creación de algunos accesorios para el cabello como felpas y cintas, que cualquier otro tipo de costura como adornos para la cocina, bolsas y demas. Pero tenia dos clientas, que son mas atrevidas que yo, y que confiaban plenamente en mi, para realizar el tipo de trabajo que ellas necesitaban, y como ya son como amigas, pues decidi aventurarme y probar otros estilos.
Llegaron con mucho entusiasmo con dos tejidos satinados, para confeccionar con ellos dos o tres gorros anti-frizz, pero en vez de ser con un elástico como comúnmente conocemos, que fuese con un tejido elastizado que se ajustara a la forma de la cabeza.
Antes de caer al minitutorial, me gustaria hablar un poco de los beneficios que traen usar este estilo de gorros.
Están hechos de un tejido suave y sedoso que reduce la fricción entre el cabello y la almohada mientras dormimos, y esta reducción de fricción es crucial para prevenir la rotura del cabello y el frizz, manteniendo la hidratación natural por mucho más tiempo. Ahora, por que elegimos este tipo de tejido?, pues el satén retiene la humedad y el secado, de esta manera, ayuda a mantener la hidratación natural del cabello. Porque un gorro es la mejor opción, pues este es una prenda redonda de tela o de punto usado para cubrir, abrigar o adornar la cabeza.

✨I started by folding the fabric in four parts and with a sample I had, I cut out a wide round circle. Taking advantage of this perfectly rounded cutout, I took out the three hats I had with each fabric.
✨Comence doblando la tela en cuatro partes y con una muestra que tenia, saque un circulo redondo bien amplio. Aprovechando este recorte perfectamente redondeado, saque los tres gorros que tenia con cada tejido.

✨Then I proceeded to sew by hand the whole hat with long stitches all around the hat, and then gather it with the leftover thread to obtain a more appropriate size and a nice and gathered finish.
For the other hat, I gathered it little by little directly on the sewing machine.
✨Luego procedi a coser a mano todo el contorno del gorro con unas puntadas largas, para luego fruncirlo con el hilo sobrante hasta obtener un tamaño mas acorde y un acabado bonito y recogido. Para el otro gorro, lo fui frunciendo poco a poco directamente en la máquina de coser

✨To attach the cap to the head I proceeded to sew a separate ribbon style headband. To do this I took the prussian blue ribbon, folded it in half and sewed a seam all the way around. Then I turned it right side out and attached it to the gathered cap.
✨Para sujetar el gorro a la cabeza procedi a ciser por separado un liston estilo cinta para el cabello. Para ello tome el liston de color azul prusia, lo doble por la mitad y pase una costura a todo lo largo. Luego la voltee al derecho y la uni al gorro fruncido.

✨Once it is finished, zic zac stitch with the help of the electric machine along the entire contour on the inside. This avoids fraying and gives it a better finish.
✨Una vez terminado pase costura en zic zac, con ayuda de la máquina eléctrica por todo el contorno en la parte de adentro. De esta forma se evita que se deshile y le da un mejor acabado al mismo.
