This building, constructed in the early 19th century (Edo period 🕰️), is a precious testament to the culture of chaya: elegant venues where the elite would enjoy the company of geishas while savoring tea 🍵 and witnessing captivating artistic performances 🎶.
Inside this historic residence, you’ll discover fascinating objects linked to the refined world of geishas: musical instruments such as the shamisen 🎻, intricately designed hair accessories, and sumptuous garments 👘. Each artifact tells a story of Kanazawa’s rich artistic traditions and history 🖌️.
Of course, we indulged in a delightful moment by savoring a cup of matcha green tea 🍵, accompanied by wagashi (Japanese sweets), delicately crafted to reflect the changing seasons 🌸🍁❄️.
