Decorative Homemade Healing Potions for Our Dungeons and Dragons Tabletop Game
Greetings friends Today I'm going to make you some decorative healing potions. These are all made to be used as decorations in the dungeons and dragons game we play. Now let's look at the necessary ingredients;
- Bottles that you want to have a healing potion. You can easily find them on amazon or in your neighborhood where they sell cheap products. Or you can recycle and use old sauce bottles.
- One winding of fine hempen rope
- Scissors
- Funnel or a pouring container that can fit into the mouth of these bottles
- A container for mixing that is slightly larger than all your bottles combined. Preferably 1 liter. So they will all be the same color.
- Water-based acrylic paint. In your preferred color. I will use burgundy, a drop of black and white and a lot of red this time.

First, we pour the dyes into our big bottle. I used red and burgundy because in the world where we play Dungeons and Dragons, one of the main ingredients needed for healing potions is red sugar beet. Since sugar beet is in purple and burgundy colors, I wanted to use something close to it.
Then you should fill it with as much water as you need and shake it. Since we are using water-based acrylic paint, it will mix quickly.
If you are not happy with the color, all you have to do is empty them out, rinse them thoroughly with warm water and start again!
If you have a funnel, you can use it to fill your little bottles. But I didn't have a funnel, so I used a coffee carafe.
After carefully filling the bottles one by one, we clean the painted water that flows around them.
At this stage, you can choose to add fake green flowers. This will add a little more authenticity. But I didn't choose to do that because the mouths of the little bottles were too small and I had a hard time getting the fake flowers inside.
What you can do here is to put the fake flowers in the bottle before you put the dyed water in.
One trick to make our bottles look more pleasing to the eye is to wrap thin hempen rope around them. This way they will look more authentic and they will look like bottles wrapped against the wilderness in fantasy worlds.
After wrapping the string around the grain bottle, remove it from the binding and cut the other pieces of string in one go. This way you don't have to wrap and cut them one at a time.
Since I had two different sized bottles, I only had to do this step twice, i.e. measuring the string. Then I prepared all of the ropes and cut them in a snap, snap, snap! Just as fast and careful as I could.

After you have wrapped the string around your little bottles, don't forget to cut off a few centimeters of excess.
Some friends on the internet have made them long and tied them together in a circle, like handles. I didn't like that, so I cut them all close to the bottle and the result was great.
If you are planning to tie them in a circle, like a handle, don't forget to leave a few extra centimeters for this. Otherwise you won't be able to wrap the whole bottle and it will look bad. Remember, these are decorative things.
I have good news for you!
Cleaning is very easy as well!
These acrylic paints are water-based, so they dissolve quickly! And I washed my coffee brewing pitcher while I was doing this, so no trace of paint was left behind. It came out very clean. Of course, don't forget to use a little dish soap to remove any unseen, potentially harmful antifouling!
Final Product
As you can see, these decorative homemade healing potions are very easy to make. If you have the ingredients, it will take you about an hour on average. And they look beautiful in front of the light, which I also made before. My friends with whom I play Dungeons and dragons will love them!
I wanted to share with you a paragraph about how they taste that the characters who will drink them in the game will experience.
"You uncap the bottle with a satisfying pop. A faint sweet smell wafts into your nostrils. When it shakes, you feel the burgundy and red liquid is thick. When you drink the potion, your whole mouth is sweetened, as if you had bitten into a sugary herb and all the juices flowed between your teeth.
When you look at the wounds on your body, you see that they are slowly closing."

Great concept!
Have you tried our new coffee flavored healing potions? It looks magnificent in its final form, and I think the production process is just as enjoyable.😋
ahahahhaha yes I really should create a vendor who makes coffee potions and add it to the game 😁😁
