Hello everyone
Happy Sunday to you all this beautiful Sunday and I hope you all are having a great time out there and I'm wishing you all the best of today. I'm here today again in this great community @diyhub to share with you this simple and useful 3 in 1 phone, cash and card purse I made for my neighbor.
Well as you may all know, people around me have been enjoying my creativity and I have actually been known for what I do, it gives me great joy to creat something useful and creative for people which actually help to reduce the cost of purchasing same item from the store, this might not be as good as that of the ones sold in stores but one thing about this is that it is hand made and the materials used are just pieces from left over fabric that might as well be thrown away, So they like what I do and appreciate it so much.
I made a small card wallet for myself some days ago and when my neighbor saw it, she wanted me to make one for her as well but she would prefer something that can actually have space for her phone, cash and card so, I decided to make this for her, well let's see if this is what she wanted. I made this with 2 pieces, cut out from my leftover fabric and it was made with a little handle at the top.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process.
I measured and cut out 16 x 6" from my pieces of fabric with same shape of lining and interfacing and the interfacing was ironed to the main fabric.
The second piece was cut out as well, as I measured and cut out 14 x 6" with lining and interfacing and the interfacing was ironed to the main fabric.
The long piece was folded in two as I curve the edge to the mid point.
On the opposite side, it was folded in two as well as I measured 1.5 x 1" then I curve it and cut it out.
The lining was placed on it and I sew it round following the shape I cut out and leaving an opening at the base where it can be turned inside out
On the other piece, I placed the lining on it and it was sew round, leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out. Both were sewn and turned inside out
The opening were folded in and I top stitched on both round.
The small piece was folded in two on the wrong side and placed at the top of the Long piece at the top with opening on the wrong side just as seen below.
The I sew on ½" on both sides.
It was folded as a purse for me to locate where the handle will be, after which I cut out a small piece of 4 x 1.5" folded and sew it before it was placed at the top of the purse.
Finally, it was folded and I sew on both sides of the last folded piece just as seen below.
I used my hand needle and thread to attach a pressing button to the middle and the opposite side to clip it together when items are kept inside.
This is the final outcome of the 3 in 1 purse with handle I made for my neighbor, I hope she will like it.
Hi @bimpcy, excellent work, a practical and useful 3 in 1 purse to comfortably carry the phone and cards when we go out to do, the phone has become a very useful and sometimes indispensable device that we use daily for various activities, I loved the idea of this purse.
