Hello creative friends
Merry Christmas to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you are all doing great and having a nice time of the season with family and friends, it's the season when the seamstress and fashion designers are all busy with making new outfit for family and friends including clients but for most of us, we only have our families to make outfit for and they are so lucky to have us to make their beautiful outfit for them.
Today I will be sharing with you the simple process I used to make this beautiful rose with plain fabric for a dress I'm making for my mother in-law for Christmas, though I'm not through with the sewing process but the style I had in mind actually needs an applique but unfortunately, I was unable to get my desired appliques around my neighborhood thinking of going to the market where I can get variety of applique will definitely cost more or transportation and since it's just the only thing I needed, I decided to use a plain fabric to make a rose myself and it was so nice and bold just as I wanted it.
When I was sewing the outfit, I got to a point where I needed to iron the fabric before proceeding to the next step but unfortunately, there was no power supply to do the ironing, instead of waiting for the power to be restored, I used the supposed waiting period to make my fabric rose.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process.
From the plain fabric, I cut out a long piece by 2.5" using the entire length of the fabric I had.
It was folded and sewn together on the wrong side with a pointed sharp edge and it was turned inside out.
I took my hand needle and thread to run a long stitch on the sewn area, after which it was gathered together.
It was then rapped around just as seen below and glue together with the help of a glue gun.
To cover the rough end at the middle, I used my hand needle and thread to attach a button to the middle of the rose to add more embellishments to the rose.
This is the final outcome and it was set aside to be used as soon as the dress is ready, it will be applied to the dress.
I love the beautiful outcome which as serve me from the cost of transportation to the market and buying an the applique as well.
You can make this and try it on one of your outfit, I'm sure you will like it.
Me gusta el color, es elegante. Te quedó bonita la flor. 💙
Lo que más me gusta de este tipo de accesorios o aplicaciones, es que hay variadas formas de hacerlos, con un acabado distinto cada vez. ✨
Nicely done friend, very lovely and cost efficient. Thanks for sharing your beautiful applique with us.
