A lovely day to you all on this beautiful Sunday, I wish you all a happy new month and a happy first Sunday of the month, I hope you have a great and prosperous month as you journey through it all the way. It is with great pleasure that I bring to you the making of this simple card wallet with zipper and handle for my neighbor as a gift.

I made this wallet for my neighbor from a single piece from left over fabric, just few days ago, I was walking down the street where I met my neighbor who was coming from where she went to make a withdrawal with her card a discussion led to how she complained on her card peeling off and I told her it's because of the way she handled and kept it, yes, sometimes we put our cards with other items in the bag and this tends to damage our cards with time so for a solution to this, I told her I will make her a small card wallet with zipper, in it her cards will be safe, I didn't remember until two days later then I immediately started the sewing process so as to fulfill my promise.

Cutting and sewing process of a simple card wallet.

I measured 5 x 8" from a piece of fabric with interfacing ironed on it and I cut out same shape of lining as well.

On the 5" I placed a zipper on it before the lining and it was sewn together on both sides

It was turned to the right side and I top stitched on both sides of the zipper

For the handle, I measured 2 x 5" it was folded in and sewn on both sides.

The main fabric was turned to the wrong side and I measured 1" from the zipper and it was folded in then I placed the handle in it and it was sewn on both sides with the zipper opened to the middle and leaving an opening on the lining where it can be turned inside out.

The excess zipper was trimmed off on both sides through the opening on the lining.

The opening on the lining was sewn together before it was turned to the right side.

This is the simple card wallet I made for my neighbor and she was so happy to have this, she said she never knew this could be made with fabric that she only saw it in stores and never occurred to her to get one for herself.

This is so useful to her and she really appreciates it when given to her. You can make one for yourself as well for safe keeping of your cards.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post. Do have a great and lovely Sunday.
