DIY Eastern Style

in DIYHub • 3 years ago

Mild temperatures and the need to avoid trouble with the other tenant had me get into a DIY project the last 2 days.

East German Style 😂

We have a small garden with 2 levels where Joy, my dog, can use everything but the upper area. But you know how those doggies are, they don't give a shit. A bulldog goes where he wants lol. So I needed a solution to avoid trouble.

Overall I needed to get the garden dog-ready because of a holiday dog I take over on Wednesday.

The ground was covered with blackberry tendrils, annoying little, infinite beasts. It was more like a jungle in Joys part of the garden. At night I let him out to do a quick business and no wonder he started using the first level as his toilet. Below he walked on a pincushion. The blackberries prickle a lot and a bulldog has delicate paws, you know.

Here are the before and after pictures of my breakout. I freed the entire level from everything that was there lol.

In the next pic you see Joys level. It's where the tree stands. Above is Maik's sacred butterfly meadow and his terrace. We have a downhill garden so the meadow is saved by a wall in the front.

So in order to avoid Joy stepping on holy ground the area needed to be secured.

A fence would be the best solution, but I need it today and have no car and don't wanna spend a ton of money.

So East German style I found my old balcony railing by the fire wood. There he was, my fence!

I immediately started the project. Who needs a man when there is a woman building?

I determined the right place, removed a few stone slabs and dug a grave ... ummm trench.

I placed the 2 pieces of balcony railing in there as good as possible and filled everything up.

Et voilà!

The holy ground is secured! For the entrance it just needs a flower pot over night, so Joy doesn't slip through lol.

Below the view from the other side of the area.

I up-cycled this garden door yesterday to have a movable entrance for this side.

Us East Germans know how to get by and make ends meet lol.

I just hope Maik is fine with this solution. I did my best 😂 .

Tomorrow I will cut down all the trees surrounding the garden. The buddleia, the hazelnut and the corkscrew willow.

After that the whole garden will be a mud slide and won't be touched until spring.

Now tell me how do you like my quick DIY project!

😄

You did a great job haha, to think you actually put that up yourself.

How steady us the fence though? Cos I reckon Joy can push it over in a blink

It's solid as a rock. I made sure it sits deep enough...I think lol. If Joy ever runs fast enough against it to push it over something went wrong anyways 😂
