Hello everyone I welcome you all to my blog, compliments of the season
Christmas is a time of celebration and we get to spend time with our loved ones after so many months. Wearing something nice is part of the celebration too.
The procedure goes thus
The basic measurements are already known which are the bust, underbust, waist, and the hip with knee length (where I want the length to be,some prefer it shorter, depends on choice) I will be putting a full linen. I chalked the bust, underbust and waist (the half length should be considered). I made the neck depth 5 inches and the neck width 3 and half inches.
The marking begins from the half length cutting out the half length which is 15 with 1 inch allowance. From the burst side I have to make use of the bust as the largest measurement for the upper bodice with 8 inches allowance, the front is the only one with the princess cut, the back will be a straight dart with zip allowance.
I am using a bust of 34 inches and My nipple point (np) is six. I will mark it on the the line I drew for the bust with 1/2 inch allowance for joining, so I marked 3 and 1/2 of bust point(bp),
the next is the underbust, I removed 1/2 inch from the nipple point which is 3, I connected the lines.
On the armhole curve, I measured it, it is 8 after measuring divide it into two, half of 8 is 4 with this it will make one know where to connect the princess cut through the armhole curve. On the underbust, to create my curve. I came out by 1 and half inches, this is not fixed and depends on how you want the curve to bulge out. Some may use 1 inch but I am using the medium size, from the bust point I came down by 1 inch to connect to the underbust (and one inch downward) then I extend it to the armhole curve by 1.5 inches
I cut the skirt length, I measured out the hip, using the same waist measurement of the upper bodice.
The next is sleeve which I made as straight then I cut the flare for the hand
I turned the linen for all.
I started joining the princess bustier
Thanks for checking on my blog
