DIY - Hot Wheels Track Connectors

in DIYHub4 years ago (edited)

You and your kids are all crazy about Hot Wheels sets, aren't you?

The thing that bothers you is that the parts got missing in course of time. Those pesky track connectors are especially inclined to disappear.

The other thing is that not everybody has a 3D printer at home to produce new parts at will.

The next thing is that you don't want to pay 20 bucks for ten pieces of plastic.

So, why don't you DIY?

For this we will need:

  • silver tape
  • scissors
  • old / obsolete / unused plastic / credit cards

I am certain that there are heaps of these plastic cards lying all over your home. So, make a good use out of them.

1. cut the card in half, trim it a bit on one long edge, check if it fits

The fit is good - you're done.

The card is loose in the track -

2. use silver tape :)

Now your brand new track connector fits perfectly.

It fits even better than the original.

Good luck producing track connectors for all the neighbourhood.

Better and better
