💡
Greetings DiyHub community, Friday already started the weekend, have a great time. ☀️ Many times in our houses or homes we have things to fix or repair, so that at least our furniture we have to keep them in good condition, as they are the ones we keep in constant use. So I want to talk about the doors of my closet, which handles or door handles, were damaged, rather they were breaking. And I want to show how I made my own handles for the door and drawers of my closet, with only scraps of fabric, it is a fabric that is a little stiff and hard. 💡💡
I didn't want to buy new ones, because of its cost, besides I had to buy 7 handles, so thinking about making them, I looked for this fabric that I had as a remnant, and with its measurements, I made them in this way that I already explained to you.
They are easy to make, and they are part of the art of recycling. This also gives a different look to the closet.
MATERIALS
Stiff cloth.
Screws, nuts, screwdriver.
Machine to sew the handles.
Mis materiales:
Tela rigida.
Tornillos, tuercas, destornillador.
Maquina para coser los tiradores, o manillas.
STEP BY STEP:
First cut strips 24cm long by 4cm wide.
Then I folded them in half and sewed a straight seam, so the strip will be more rigid.
This way I sewed 7 strips, which are the ones I need, since there are 5 drawers and two doors.
PASO A PASO:
I marked each tie-rod on each side, so that the screw can pass through more easily.
These handles had its screw, which was placed from the inside out, holding its original handle.
I placed the screws on each side and in the part where the screw comes out, I put a nut, to make sure that it does not come out when opening or closing the drawers and doors.
As some of the nuts were a little big, I put a band-aid on them, so they hold better.
This is how easy and fast I was able to fix the handles of my closet, now I can open them with more security, and they are more durable.
I wanted to make these handles out of leather, but since I didn't have any, I made them out of fabric.
The best thing is to look for the solution to the problem, and when it comes to crafts and recycling, everything is possible.
Let's keep recycling and improving our planet earth, which needs it so much.
I hope you enjoyed it, keep enjoying your day, your weekend, bye!
