Hello Diyhub community, This is my first time posting in this community, and I am delighted to be here.

Right from my high school days, I have always dreaded creative/fine arts as it was called then because I thought I had no creative bone in me. Whenever we were given a project to work on, I would start, and it would be going great, but at some point, it would look like something I didn't understand or recognize, and I would abandon it when I saw how beautiful others works were.

It didn't help that my best friend then was the opposite of me; she was the art guru and always acing all of our projects, and her work was always the talk of the class.

When we grow we begin to see life from different perspectives than we saw it when we were younger. Recently, I began to understand that art is what you make of it, and that is why sometimes when art is produced, some struggle to see the meaning behind it, or most people just see different things from one piece. I've concluded that art is what you make and interpret it to be.

So I was bored today and decided to play around with some papers that I had lying around my room, and just then I began to get inspiration to make these beautiful paper flower decor.

For making this beautiful paper flower decor, these are the materials I used:

Papers
Scissors
Gum
Perfume cover

Step 1
Firstly, I decided to cut the paper into squares, A big one and a small one; this served as the basis for my paper flower. I made sure that the papers were cut uniformly to ensure uniformity of the flowers and then folded the already cut squares into two.

Step 2
I then proceeded to shred the closed part of the fold using my scissors; I made sure that while shredding, I didn't cut to the end of the paper; I was very careful, and this was also done for all of the papers I had cut.

Step 3
Thirdly, I proceeded to roll, twirl, or fold (whichever one you understand) the uncut part of the folded paper; this folding or rolling is what gives the unique flower shape, so I did it continuously until I got to the end of the paper. Remember, I had cut out both small-sized and big-sized papers, so after rolling the small paper, I proceeded to roll the larger one on the already rolled-out smaller one, serving more like the petals of our flower.

Step 4
After making the rolls, I cut out a small strip of paper and rolled it over the flower, and then ended by applying some gum to secure the flowers from falling apart.

Step 5
This wasn't initially part of the plan, but I saw my old perfume carton that I wanted to discard, and it struck me that it would be useful to serve as a flower vase for my flowers, so I put them all in it.
