Hi, Hive friends! In June 2024, we were so busy preparing for our children's baptismal celebration. My husband was busy with almost everything. From the big house rental, choices of food menu, shopping of clothes for the kids, etc. Anything that was involved financially was on my husband's part. Anything involved with the French language was on him.
I told my husband we don't need to spend money on the giveaways. Buying cards and small tokens for giveaways will cost more. I told him the idea we should do something like DIY or Do-It-Yourself. This time, it's on me.
Now, I am proud to present you the "Finished Items" I did for this Handpainted Thank You Card giveaway for the guests.
Gouache Handpainted Polaroid-Like Thank You Card in the Philippines
I found this painting idea on Pinterest that is to create a polaroid-like gouache painting for your mini-painting projects. And I was like, why not? It can be useful for the baptismal giveaway.
The subjects of this gouache handpainted polaroid-like card are all the places I visited personally in the Philippines. All original photos were taken using my phone camera, iPad camera, and Nikon D5100.
All places have different stories to tell. When I handed the cards to our guests, they were so impressed and asked me if it was me who painted them.
All the guests were Europeans and I don't know them personally. They are the family friends of my husband's family. I was hesitant to introduce myself since it was their first time to see me in person. But they were happy to see that my husband is having his own family.
I am not yet fluent to speak in French so shame on me. But I tried to communicate with them using this handpainted card giveaway.
I showed them the Philippines and the beautiful places and islands I visited through my painting.
We had one guest who visited the Philippines and is into scuba diving so he shared his scuba diving experiences in some islands of the Philippines.
I feel like my handpainted cards are postcard-worthy, so why not show our European guests the beauty of the Philippines?
Since our guests didn't know who I was but with this card giveaway, they were listening to me while introducing myself where I came from. I know that the occasion should be all about my kids but it was also my chance to learn who the mother is. Hehehe!
I am just happy that everyone loved it. I told them that they can keep it. Hopefully, they won't throw away this handpainted card.
Handpainted Welcome Sign Board
I also made this welcome sign board. I just checked on Pinterest for some ideas.
Handpainted Envelopes
For each card, we need an envelope. Instead of buying expensive envelopes with designs, I decided to handprint each envelope. It was really fun doing this and I never got bored.
Another card was made for the handwriting message to our guests saying thanks for coming and celebrating with us. I didn't take a picture because the messages were all personalized.
Handpainted Invitation Cards were sent ahead of time
FYI, we sent the invitation cards to our guests ahead of time. This was the first project I did. All invitations were handwritten and the other card was the photo of the kids created using Canva.
Somehow, everything was designed and handpainted by me. It was a fun project. How I wish I could do a business of doing personalized giveaways for different celebrations.
very creative and nice! 👊😎🤙🌷
Thank you 😊
These are look so creative and a fun project. Why don't you start a biz on this?
I am not yet sure if this kind of business will take off here in France. But I can easily start this project if I was in the PH. Hehehe.
You never know, I mean it would do well during Christmas
