Nowadays, one of the most alarming problems that many countries are concerned about is the increasing volume of garbage being created each day, improper disposal of waste can be hazardous to the environment and health issues of the people.
Hello Friends in Hive community, A pleasant day to all and I hope everybody is enjoying an abundant life and good health. Today, It is my first time sharing a bit of my craft in this community. I am going to share with you how to turn cloth remnants into a doormat. The idea of recycling came into my mind when I saw the tons of garbage, we produced every day. Even in a little way I can do my part of saving the environment.
Materials Needed:
*Stretchable Cloth/fabric (cut in 1 inch width and 10 meters in length preferably in 4 colors white, black, battle green and yellow)
*A frame with 17x24 inches (47 x 31 nails attached on it)
Procedure:
1.Attach all the strings until you can produce 10 meters long in each color.
2.Tie the last portion of the string as shown in the picture. On this part I used black cloth.
3.Position the frame as if you are facing it.
4.Start from the left side of the frame, locate the first nail to where you hook the tied string.
5.On the right side of the frame, hook the strip on the second nail and bring it back again to the left, repeat the procedure alternately, until the whole frame is filled with the black strips.
6.Once it is filled, attach the second color which is the battle green and hook it again to the next nail that it hasn't filled with black strips, repeat the same procedure as the previous. Make sure to hook it alternately.
7.After filling-in the frame with the green strips, connect the white strips and the yellow strips to fill in the remaining part of the frame.
8.Once all the nails are filled-in with the strips of cloth, you need to start weaving. Start from the bottom part of the frame until it is all done.
9.Then after weaving, you need to close the four sides by inserting the first cloth to the next.
10.Start from the upper right corner of the frame by unhooking the first strip which is the white one. Then unhook the second strip (black) and insert it into the white loop. Repeat the procedure until all are securely fastened. Secure the last part of the cloth by tying it to prevent from falling apart.
11.This is the finished output. Ready to use doormat.
Thank you so much. I hope you learn something from my blog today. I hope to see you all soon.

I, indeed, learned from this blog today that I'd like to borrow this frame and find some strips of cloth to make this doormat. This can be a good source of income! Easy to follow instructions. Thanks for this article @melit79

Thank you for sharing, I will try to follow the steps, hope I can create one so ai can teach it to my fellow church members mostly mom's and single adults.. a great way to recycle old clothes.
