Blessed evening to the beautiful souls of hive and this community. Monica is on the house and hoping to hook up with more friends here.
The weekend has been a bit hectic for me but it is all for good.
Earlier on Saturday we went out harvesting rice and we got back a little late into the evening.
When the next day was Sunday and church's day of course, every Sunday comes with a thought for me on what to wear to church. There is usually the anxiety about what to wear not because I don't have some clothes but that they may not be in perfect shape. You can be a seamstress and still not have time to make your own clothes. Sometimes we sew customers clothes faster so that we can get come money from them.
And then whenever it is time for us to wear some clothes it becomes a puzzle
I made it a point of duty that Saturday to prepare something nice for myself that I can wear to church on sunday
What I created actually made me feel like a queen already, I heard that only queens wear crown but that Saturday I made my own crown. Did I just call this a crown πππ well the golden embroidery made it look like one.
I went through my closet in search of what to wear for Sunday and realized that I have this dress I have sewn and haven't worn before.
Having tried the dress on it was perfect, but I had no scarf for go with it and my African mother's won't let me rest of I go to church tomorrow with my hair uncovered
There was nothing in the house that made a match with my dress hence I kept thinking about what to do
This was when I realized that the dress was longer than I wanted it
With a scissors I cut off the excesses and thought of what to make with it
Having seen many creative minds here sew different kinds of colorful headband as hair covers I decided to try something
I cut this into the length I wanted and stitched it in different parts, cut and sewed a rose to attach to it as well
Then got golden embroidery to design it with it. It wasn't the color of the fabric but fitted in perfectly with it, that was done and my outfit for sunday service . A complete match
I was glad that I could utilize every tiny pieces of the fabric left and recycle it into something that can cover my head.
